It is under the housing that the upper hose hooks to.

the tranny has a pan on the bottom just like the oil pan on the engine (only much shallower). make sure you purchase a tranny gasket when you get the filter. drop the pan, the filter is right there. it hangs in there just by having some o-rings around the tube on the filter. just pull the old one out. take the new one and fill/soak it with fresh tranny fluid and lubricate the o-rings with tranny fluid and place it in the tranny. clean any gasket remnants from the tranny pan and install the new gasket. DO NOT use any type of lubricant or sealant on the new gasket! it won't make a proper sealand will blow out once the tranny builds pressure! install the pan and torque the bolts to the manufacturer specs.

or, torque like i do... BBRRRAGTAGTAGTAGT!!! that's the sound of an air ratchet if you don't know! ;)

If the relay is good and the fan is getting power and groun, then the fan motor is bad.

Things to check....spark plugs and wires, bad fuel....analyse the fuel in the tank for dirt water...replace the fuel filter evey 30,000 miles and do a fuel injection service every time you do the fuel filter.If you cant find the problem ofill your tank with high test and add fuel injector additive to the fuel at fill up use the black bottle of Chevron Fuel Injector Additve) works real good, if you dont fill the tank at least put in a bit more then 20.00 at the time you add the cleaner to the fuel.

The grand Cherokee does have four wheel disc brakes. The wrangler and Cherokee have rear drum brakes.

Yes, Jeeps are reliable vehicles but it really depends on how you take care of them.

On my 1995 jeep Laredo 6 cylinder it comes off the computer on the passenger side. one of the main harnesses coming inboard from the computer has a few wires and a plug about 6 inches down from the computer. It branches off the main harness and appears to plug back into the harness but its just a cover for it.

does the engine still have the shroud around the fan? If that is missing, they WILL run hot!

If not, keeping a clean air filter, adequate anti-freeze/water mix, new spark plugs every year, oil changes on schedule. If it still runs hot when all this is done, I'd say it is time to trade it off and tell the buyer that it 'runs hot'. What do I know tho...

The firing order should be 1-5-3-6-2-4.

Yes, no, maybe - it's not that easy. There are several measurements to a tire; intended rim width, intended rim diameter(bead seat diameter), and profile(which refers to how thick the tire is as compared to its width). You've gotta stay with the same intended rim diameter, but you can usually fit a tire that's one size off in width w/o anything disastrous happening. Profile is the least critical of them all. As long as the rim dia is OK and the width isn't too far off you can fit a tire with a higher or lower profile(and with that a bigger or a smaller overall dia for the wheel) without any adverse effects at all on the wheel. Do note that swapping wheel sizes will affect your vehicle in several ways. Your speedo will lose its calibration, it'll affect the overall gear ratio and it can also affect vehicle stability when turning. It may also cause clearance issues with fenders and chassis components.

On the firewall

Its just a company trademark. For example BMW's have 2 opening grilles to signify it as a BMW. so basically when you see those slots from the front you immediately connect that image with JEEP.

Worn or frayed wire to starter?

The crank sensor is an important part of the engine wiring. Without it the engine does not know when to fire. There is no way to by pass it.

If it is a standard:

4High - Put in clutch, use transfercase shifter (shorter shifter) and follow the shift pattern into 4H

4Low - Come to a complete stop, Put in clutch, use transfercase shifter (shorter shifter) and follow the shift pattern into 4L

If it is an automatic

4High/4Low - Stop, Put vehicle in park, use transfercase shifter (shorter shifter) and follow the shift pattern into 4L or 4H

If this doesn't work it means something is wrong with your CAD (central axle dissconnect). Which means there could be a leak in the vaccum lines, or the shifter fork in the CAD is bent or broken.

It will "bolt up", but there is an issue with the torque converter. You will need to either have a standard torque converter machined/welded, or you will need to find the special torque converter that came on a 151/TH350 setup from the factory. I do not know if one actually exists, but I am looking.
