Which letter is likely to be worth more one written by Abraham Lincoln or one written by his assassin John Wilkes Booth?

I'll be honest, whilst I'm not completely sure, I would hazard a guess at Booth's. Lincoln wrote loads of letters, I can't imagine Booth did, and I imagine I would be sought after highly to get an insight into the mind of the criminal that shot Lincoln.

How did john Wilkes both injure himself?

He broke his leg by jumping onto the stage after killing Lincoln.

What color were John Wilkes Booth's eyes?

His eyes were hazel. They are erroneous claimed in a Wanted Poster to be black, but according to his sister, Asia Booth, in her book John Wilkes Booth: A Sister's Memoir (originally published as The Unlocked Book). If you want to read more, I'd suggest getting the originally published version as according to what I've read, the new one has been 'edited'.

Where was John Wilkes Booth's tattoo located?

John Wilkes Booth had no tattoo. There are reports that as a ten year-old he tattooed his left hand using India ink. All these sources say their information came from his sister Asia Booth.

Asia said, "He had perfectly shaped hands, and across the back of one he clumsily marked, when a little boy, his initials in India ink."

Booth simply put his initials on his left hand using India ink from his school supplies. In a few weeks the initials would wear off.

Before Lincoln's assassination not one person said he had a tattoo. After his death, people said that Booth had a tattoo on his left hand, his right arm, and on his chest. None of these were accurate. The only person that we know had JWB tattooed on his left hand was James William Boyd.

How was John Wilkes Booth's leg broken?

Most historians believe that he broke it when he jumped to the Ford's Theatre stage from the Presidential box seats. Some believe that he broke it when his horse fell, which is what Booth had told Doctor Samuel Mudd who splinted his injury and made him a pair of crutches.

Why did Sgt Boston Corbett Shoot John Wilkes Booth after assassination of Abraham Lincoln?

because he didn't like him for shooting Lincoln.

He shot him because he thought he was about to use his weapons and was protecting him and his fellow soldiers. He also said that "providence called him" Boston was brave and had a lot of dignity in his job.

Alternate answer by Troy Cowan

Many don't believe Boston Corbett shot the man in the Garrett barn including the commander of the detachment, Lt. Edward Doherty. Also, many don't believe John Wilkes Booth was the man killed in the barn. There is substantial evidence that Booth died in 1903.

If Boston Corbett did not kill the man in the barn, who did and why?

The man killed in the barn was James William Boyd. The Secretary of War assigned Boyd to kill Lincoln. When he did not do it and fled the city, he needed to be found and killed. Stanton wanted him silenced forever. When Colonel Conger discovered that Boyd was the man in the barn, he shot Boyd and blamed it on Corbett. When Corbett discovered he was being treated as a hero and after he received part of the reward money, he willing went along.

Unfortunately, few historians accept this explanation. They need proof. The masterminds behind Lincoln's assassination got away with the crime. There will never be any proof of their involvement.

Who did John Wilkes Booth love?

Booth had many female lovers. At the time of Lincoln's assassination, he was engaged to be married to Lucy Lambert Hale. She was the daughter of former senator of New Hampshire, John P. Hale.

How long did John Wilkes Booth hide from the union?

Approximately 12 days. He shot President Lincoln on April 14, 1865, and was found hiding in a Tobacco barn in Port Royal, Virginia, on April 26, 1865, by the Union Calvary. He refused to surrender, and the barn was set on fire. While Booth was still inside the burning barn, Sergent Boston Corbett caught a glimpse of him, and shot Booth in the neck. Booth did not die, right away but he was paralyzed. He was carried over to the porch of the home, which belonged to the farmer who owned the barn, where Booth was hiding. Booth died a few hours later, at approximately 7:15am, April 26, 1865.
