Joseph Pulitzer

Born Politzer József, Joseph Pulitzer (1847-1911) was a Hungarian-American lawyer, philanthropist, journalist, and newspaper publisher of the “New York World” and the “St. Louis Post Dispatch.” A leading figure in the Democratic Party, he posthumously established the Pulitzer Prizes.
