Judo PLAYERS don't get payed unless they in the Olympics and then they only get paid for advertising, such as wearing a suit made by adidas. Judo Referees however, can get payed $38,000 if they referee at the highest level. But they must be a black belt of some level.
after the yellow belt comes the orange belt then blue then brown then black
There are two main differences between Japanese Jujitsu and Brazilian Jujitsu.
Japanese Jujitsu uses standing locks, strikes, take downs and ground techniques.
Brazilian Jujitsu leans more toward take downs and ground techniques.
Both are effective means of defense and both can cause serious injury.
Brazilian Jujitsu as with many other martial arts evolved from Japanese Jujitsu.
10 degrees of black belt exist in Karate. But each belt has a meaning. The meaning of the 10th degree is "perfection", not in those exact words. Because some people rightly believe that no one can be perfect, some Karate programs have eliminanted the 10th degree. An example of this is the ATA program, they only have 9 degrees of black belt.
You're never to old to train any martial art, i know a dude who knows a dude who has a son that has a son that has been training ever since he was five and and now he's i think 72. so really never unless you have a serious medical prob.
Fighters that couldn't make it in boxing, go to the UFC. UFC fighters are way to slow for a boxer. A UFC fighter wouldn't be able to catch a boxer. Compare a 150 pound UFC fighter to Floyd Mayweather Jr. That wouldn't even be a fight. Floyd will kill him. Plus boxers go 12 rounds and in the UFC u only go 3 or sometimes 5. And boxers have more knockouts even with the gloves that they wear. There is barely any padding in a UFC glove, whereas there is a lot of padding in a boxers glove. You can't even compare the two. A boxer will dominate a UFC fighter.
that is the biggest load i have ever herd boxers only use there hands and they have sorter rounds no boxer would beat a ufc fighter i have done both boxing and ufc. ufc is so much more intesnce its cazy, boxers only have protect there head when a ufc fighter has to protect everything. i cant berlive that answer oh my god boxing is so soft and all they do is hug, ufc has way more knockouts. boxing is so boring now 1 tiny cut and its over its so soft. so everyone ufc is so much better then boxing.
the second answer is total trash , there are people who are like late 30s and early 40s in ufc, any old man who learns bjj or muay thai can be a ufc fighter. and boxers only have to protect their head u must be retarted, the body , and they hug because the y go 10-12 round while the max for ufc is ummmmmm..... 5. they got no stamina they only focus on power. boxers actually have to use skill timing an accuracy while in the ufc anybody can brawl and win, look at kimbo slice
Hahaha, all these answers are biased trash. Its all about preference, if you like to see athletes use only their hands then watch boxing, if you like variety give MMA(ufc is an organization not a sport) a try. Many people like both and in the end its what ever you find the most aesthetically pleasing. BTW, MMA rounds are 5 minutes as opposed to 3 minutes and are more grueling than boxing rounds wich contain no grappling or extensive clinch work. Boxers(including James Toney, butter bean, and art jimmerson) have attempted MMA and at the UFC level lost without landing a single punch, yet MMA competitors such as KJ Noons have extensive and successful professional boxing records. Freddie Roach has commended many mixed martial artists(such as BJ Penn, Anderson Silva, GSP) and stated that if they focused on it could easily be pro boxers. And because of the variety in MMA older fighters are able to compete because its not soley speed and reaction like boxing is, btw james toney held a title while over 40 so check your facts folks :). And if you think MMA fighters lack stamina you obviously do not watch the sport and have no right to make analyzations. P.S.-Kimbo Slice has a 4-2 record in MMA going 1-1 in the UFC, but has a perfect 5-0 pro boxing record
Which one is "better" is just a matter of preference. It's silly to argue one way or the other; the boxer would win in a boxing match, the MMA fighter would win in an MMA match. In fact, it's already been put to the test. Randy Couture took care of James Toney in short order in an MMA match. Likewise, in a boxing match, Ray Mercer destroyed Tim Sylvia in the same short order that Kimbo Slice dispatched Mercer in the octagon...and Slice wasn't even a world class MMA fighter.
If you're asking who would win in a street fight, the MMA fighter would have a sizeable advantage. It comes down to defense more than anything; an MMA fighter may not be as skilled as a boxer at defending against punches, but the boxer is going to have no idea how to defend himself against the arsenal the MMA fighter is going to throw at him.
The word "judo" which originates from the Japanese language, means "the way of yielding." Do is commonly found in martial arts names because it means 'the way.' It is often translated as the 'gentle way'. That is not connotatively accurate.
The All Japan Kendo Federation (AJKF, ZNKR or Zen Nihon Kendou Renmei) defines the purpose of Kendo as:
To mould the mind and body.To cultivate a vigorous spirit,And through correct and rigid training,To strive for improvement in the art of Kendo. To hold in esteem human courtesy and honor. To associate with others with sincerity. And to forever pursue the cultivation of oneself. Thus will one be able:To love one's country and society; To contribute to the development of culture; And to promote peace and prosperity among all peoples.
There are a limited number of true 10th Dans in the world. Many of the Japanese styles do not even go that high. They feel that 10th Dan should only be awarded to the originator of the art. The Okinawa karate styles have a single 10th Dan in each style. To meet and train with one is an honor.
The belt colors in least to greatest are:
white
yellow
orange
green
blue
purple
brown
black
Judo is a type of Karate. It is an Olympic sport. Competitors compete on a mat that is roughly six feet long.
There are three mon (as stripes) per belt except white. The order is:
White
Red
Yellow
Orange
Green
Blue
Brown
Black.
Note. These are the over 8 grades. After Black there are more grades but your belt stays the same colour.
You will find the origins of Judo and Akido quite connected. Judo helps you understand the flow of the force (please, not starwars, but the 'push'. You know, when others are trying to punch you?) and helps you overcome it with much less effort. It originated as a mean of defense, though it can be offensive too. You learn how to tip other people's balance and make them fall basically, at the same time you learn how to use your strength to much better advantage.
Duration of Judo match is 3 minute for children limited, adult is 5 minute and 3 minute for master level.
In the initial Dan rankings, solid red.
1st-5th Dan Black Belts wear a black belt. 6-8 wear black belts also but can wear a red and white striped belt. 9-10 wear a red belt, the highest rank ever reached. (Theoretically if one attains perfection in judo, they are 12th dan and wear a double wide belt, to distinguish from a single-wide beginners belt.)
*The ranks used in other countries including Europe use the black belt as the highest, with the order of ranks being white, red, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown, and black.
it depends on your sense (instructor) some are very serious (bigger clubs) and some are focused on just learning (the smaller clubs)
i have been doing judo for 5 years and have been to 6 competitions
Not really. Atemi-waza does exist in the advanced training of judo, but the shuto, or knife hand, is not taught.
Tenth dan. I think there are only three people who have it right now. In the world.
It depends on what throw you are doing. For example, usually doing a throw like Ippon Sionage or osoto is pretty fast. Most throws, if done correctly take less than a second to complete, but it can take up to 20 or so seconds to set up.
