because Ancient Egyptian beleved that in the afterlife, people need money and other good (they even believed that to get into the afterlife you had to pay someone at the gate of the underworld a coin) so they were often "buried" with lots of gold and money, and people needed money (or wanted it) so they broke and tried to take it

How do you know about King Tutankhamun?
Almost everything we know about Tutankamun we know becuse of the artifacts in his tomb. We know that he changed his name from Tutankhaton to Tutankamun when he became king at the age of 9 or 10, his father Akhenaton almost destroyed Egypt in a quest to make the god Aton the sole god worshiped in Egypt. He married his half sister Ankhesenepatan who changed her name to Ankhesenamen, they had two daughters, both of whom were born stillborn, leaving Tut with no heir. Tut's left leg was shorter than his right and the doctors (healers) at the time created him special sandals so that he would not limp and would more than likely ease some of his pain. During the 3rd year of his Reign we know he refused to worship Aton and chose to return Egypt to the worship of Amen and tried to restore Amen's temples and preists to their former glory. It is not known however if the king was doing this or General Horemheb, one of his advisors thought to have been named "Lord of the Land" as the king was so young. He was 18 upon his death, we do not know if he was assasinated or if he died of malaria broght on by a broken leg. Both of his daughters were buried with their father in mini caskets sealed by his own hand. He was suceeded by Ay who married Ankhesenamen ( we belive by force, it is also belived Ay was a uncle, the brother of Tut's father) and then by Horemheb.

Was King Tutankhamun a boy or a girl?
There is no doubt that king tut is a boy. I can tell you based on archaeological evidence that the mummified remains of Tutankhamen are clearly those of a male and include (although it is now detached from the mummy) a fully developed penis. Not only this but there would be no need for him to have pretended to be a boy if he ever was a girl as there were no kings or queens of egypt- only the pharaoh and this was a non gender specific role which held the same amount of power regardless of gender. Also he clearly impregnated akhsunamun- DNA tests have revealed that the two female children buried with him were his daughters and he shares paternal (not maternal) DNA with the babies. There is still a lot of speculation surround Tutankhamen and you're welcome to interpret archaeology is whatever way you like but there are some things of which we can be certain and his gender is one of these instances.
When did howard carter found king tut's tomb?
If I may quote Wikipedia, Page: Howard Carter:
"On 4 November 1922, Howard Carter's excavation group found the steps leading to Tutankhamun's tomb (subsequently designated KV62), by far the best preserved and most intact pharaonic tomb ever found in the Valley of the Kings. He wired Carnarvon to come, and on 26 November 1922, with Carnarvon, Carnarvon's daughter, and others in attendance, Carter made the "tiny breach in the top left hand corner" of the doorway, and was able to peer in by the light of a candle and see that many of the gold and ebony treasures were still in place. He made the breach into the tomb with a chisel his grandmother had given him for his seventeenth birthday. He did not yet know at that point whether it was "a tomb or merely a cache", but he did see a promising sealed doorway between two sentinel statues. When Carnarvon asked "can you see anything?", Carter replied with the famous words: "Yes, wonderful things."[7]
The next several months were spent cataloging the contents of the antechamber under the "often stressful" oversight of Pierre Lacau, director general of the Department of Antiquities of Egypt.[8] On 16 February 1923, Carter opened the sealed doorway, and found that it did indeed lead to a burial chamber, and he got his first glimpse of the sarcophagus of Tutankhamun. All of these discoveries were eagerly covered by the world's press, but most of their representatives were kept in their hotels; only H. V. Morton was allowed on the scene, and his vivid descriptions helped to cement Carter's reputation with the British public."

What age did tutankhmun become king?
he was 9 when he became pharaoh
and died at 19
:)
If I may correct you, he actually became Pharaoh at the age of 8. He died because he was riding on his chariot and he fell of, he broke his leg which then became infected. Sadly after that he passed away at the age of 19 years old. Which was fairly old in those days.
Hope this helped.
King Tut died of an infected leg, apparently to Horrible Histories. But as well as historians, I don't know WHEN King Tut died. You would probably be better looking at a different website to find the answer. Sorry.
