Caleb wrote this song for his fiancee, Lily Aldridge. He is basically telling her that although right now their life maybe be intimidating, as they are reaching new heights in both of their careers, he wants her to stay with him through it all("If you give up New York I'll give you Tennessee") and he doesn't want anything to change her("I like your point of view so don't you shy away"). Then it was their friend Angelo Petrigalia who they hired to help them write songs so when they played at bars some people noticed them and since Angelo was helping them out (he's also their producer) they were signed with RCA labels. Now if you mean in like America because they were more famous in the U.K. they became famous in the U.S. because of their song "Sex on Fire" it became their first hit here and they've kind of gone from there.
