Kurt Donald Cobain (February 20, 1967 – April 5, 1994) was the lead singer, guitarist and main songwriter for the band Nirvana, formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1985. The band achieved much fame with its song "Smells Like Teen Spirit", and sold over 50 million worldwide since their debut. Cobain had trouble dealing with heroin addiction, depression and sickness in the last few years of his life, and was found dead with a shotgun wound to his head, officially ruled as a suicide, on April 8, 1994.
