laos' western border is made up by the mekong river, which forms a beautiful coastline especially at sunset. to the north are remote mountain areas which are popular for hikers in this area but be careful of unexploded ordanance; stay on the trails recommended by your map. I believe that the border of cambodia and laos is relatively flat with many ricefields. luang prabang is a word heritage city with wonderful temples and Buddhist and french influence. lastly, the people are very welcoming and humble.
