What type of violin bow does jimmy page use?
Hello. I am an old Led Zeppelin collector and I can give you the specifications for one type of bow Jimmy used. It is an H. Siegler full size 29" violin bow, unbleached horsehair, and solid Brazillian wood. It has a Parisian eye (mother of pearl) in the frog (handle). This bow was used at some point after the '77 tour as it also has been fitted with fiber optic cables for the neon effect Jimmy used. Jimmy may have used various other types and certianlly used bows without the fiber optic cables. This is one that was used by Jimmy as it came directly from the road tech from LaserMedia that went out on tour with Zeppelin. Jimmy had his bows restrung along the tour trail and from rumor he bought a run of defective bows at a very good deal. I hope this helps and rock on!

What stadium did Led Zeppelin play in Tampa in 1978?
It was 1977 and the stadium was the same one that the Bucks played in. I think they called it the BIG SOMBRERO. I remember after the third song (ironic it was the Rain Song). The heavens opened up! The blankets and sleeping bags we were all sitting on (the field) were used as tarps to divert the water off us. The water coming down so hard that was cascading down cement stairs of stadium like hundreds of waterfalls. They tried to get everyone out off the field but 200-300 police had no chance against 60,000 fans shouting "Rain or Shine" which is what was printed on the tickets. I think the tics were about $35.00 each, which was lots of money in those days! Not to mention that about 30,000 of came from South Fla (Miami Ft. Lauderdale) and another 12,000 came from North Fla (Jacksonville). There were a lot wet and bloody people (bloodied by the Police) being dragged around by fiiends trying to get them out before they were arrested.
Well after our three song concert all of out friends (about 30) went on to spend the next day at Disney. btw: We did get out money back from the promter after we mailed in out tickets (I think it Jerry Weintrob and Concerts West) but it took almost 6 mos. I think they might even be worth something on eBay today.

What are some remakes of Led Zeppelin songs?
Led Zeppelin is a tough band to cover; the best I've ever heard are Heart's version of "Rock And Roll" (Ann Wilson comes closer to Robert Plant than most male vocalists can!), Godsmack's cover of "Good Times, Bad Times," and 4 Non Blondes version of "Misty Mountain Hop." I've heard a what I would call poor cover of D'yer Mak'er. I've also heard a rapper's song "based" on Kashmir, it wasn't that great, I think the rapper was Snoop Dogg, all I know is that he's popular There's probably a lot more because Led Zeppelin is a great band, but I can't answer it all. Look up some of these on Youtube, you'll find them.

What four Led Zeppelin songs reference Tolkien Lord of the Rings?
The Battle of Evermore", "Ramble On", "Misty Mountain Hop", and "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp".
"The Battle of Evermore" is supposed to have related to The Battle of the Pelennor Fields in "The Return of the King". "The magic runes are writ in gold to bring the balance back" is believed to refer to the Elvish writing across the band of the One Ring and the destruction of the Ring. The Prince of Peace, who "embraced the gloom" and "walked the night alone" is believed to be Frodo, Aragorn, or Gandalf, according to different interpretations. Frodo went into the darkness of Mordor with only Samwise Gamgee, and is therefore most commonly believed to be the the Prince of Peace. Aragorn is sometimes believed to be the Prince of Peace because of his lone wanderings on "the path of the dead" to find the Dead Men of Dunharrow. Gandalf's claim to being the Prince of Peace is in his battle with the Balrog in the darkness of the mines of Moria. There is also "the Queen of Light" who "took her bow" referred to in the song. She is commonly believed to be either Galadriel, the luminescent Queen of the elves of Lothlorien, or owyn, the beacon of hope for the Rohirrim who took up arms to fight for her people.
