In the musical, Inspector Javert sings his final song shortly before he commits suicide. This song is known simply as "Javert's Suicide." It echoes the melody of a song sung by Valjean at the beginning of the musical, "Valjean's Soliloquy." This is interesting because both men sing this melody when at a crossroad in their lives--at the point of a difficult choice. Yet, in the end, Valjean chooses life and a fresh start, while Javert chooses death. It enhances both the similarities and differences between the two men.

As Javert jumps from the bridge, the music swells and shifts into the melody of his theme, "Stars."

The original Broadway production closed on May 18, 2003 after 16 years.

I'd say not for kids under the age of 8 due to the whole stripping angle. Nothing is too explicit but I wouldn't encourage young kids to see it.
