House lizards can last from a month to 10 years, depending on their living conditions. If you want your pet lizard to have a long life, you should follow some daily practices. First, your lizard should live in a large, but enclosed space brightly illuminated by lamplight 24/7. Second, they should be fed high-protein items like live crickets and ants (available for purchase at local pet stores) as oppose to lettuce and other veggies. Last essential lizard rule, is to mist your lizards once a day to keep their skin cool. Misters are also available at most pet stores. Hope this helped!

They are a protected species. They are also dangerous. A bite or even a graze that draws blood will become infected and if not treated will result in death. If a komodo manages to bite the ankle of a large animal such as a deer, the dragon will wait several days for the poison from its saliva to finally cause the deer to die. Then, as if by magic, any komono in the area will appear to feast on the corpse. It is because they eat foul, fetish carrion, that their saliva is so potently germ-ridden.

It is used as a defence mechanism, so if a predictor attacks a gecko it would usually drop its tail to distract the attacker. Not all geckos do this but lots do, when geckos grow back there tail it usually looks different then before and is usually more wide. So if holding a leopard gecko for example make sure that you make sure you don't hurt the tail as it may lose its tail.

Habitat destruction and fragmentation are the biggest threats to slender glass lizards.

reptiles such as a chameleon or anole eat primarily insects such as crickets and smaller moths and may even enjoy an occasional piece of fruit. do not feed them beetles or fireflys (lightning bug). wheen feeding crickets do not leave them in cage without cricket food if lizzard wont eat them because they might eat your reptile. hope this hepls :)

A flea requires a host that has hair in order to lay it's eggs on the host but a flea can feed off of a gecko yes. Be weary that flea's/mites/parasites are not present, as this can kill your gecko if the flea carrys any disease or bacteria.

They do not - and not many lizards can climb smooth surfaces. The pads on the lizards that can climb glass are covered in millions of tiny hairs/bristles and the ends of these have a tiny spot of liquid - like an oil. The phenomenon that is used to enable them to climb smooth surfaces is surface tension. The reason for the ability to climb smooth surfaces is that they are then able to exploit more habitat - like large shiny leaves.

In northern climates, a natural predator of the porcupine, the fisher, is sometimes introduced into an area to control porcupine populations. Fishers are a type of weasel and are about the size of a large house cat. Other predators of the porcupine include the bobcat, and where found, the timber wolf, and wolverine. These animals are quick, and are able to flip the porcupine onto to its back in order to expose it's soft, unprotected belly. In Oklahoma, only the bobcat, and occasionally the coyote, are natural predators of the porcupine. Porcupines mate in the fall and give birth about 112 days later in the spring. They usually have only one offspring, called a porcupette, and twins are rare. The porcupine's quills are soft at birth and harden within their first hour of existence. They can eat solid food in about two weeks. Unlike their stoic parents, porcupettes are quite playful.

Wild-caught animals should be left to experienced keepers who intend to breed them in order to bring in new blood to captive breeding programs. They can be difficult to establish, have internal parasites that require vet treatment, and are harder to tame.

Lizards are a carrier of Salmonella, however with proper care it is very easy to avoid getting it from them. After handling or being around a lizard's habitat wash up to your elbows with any anti-bacterial soap and you can also use a hand sanitizer after as well. Never touch around your face or open wound without washing your hands and arms first.

Leopard Gecko's really like mealworms. However, don't feed the gecko too many, as the meal worms are like candy to them. Too much candy, and what happens to you? You get sick. It's the same with leopard geckos and mealworms. I recommend giving it 2-3 a day.

Camouflage is the horned lizards most effective defense combined with remaining very still. Horned lizards color patterns closely match the soil where they live. Well, they may live for around about a week or so. But feeding them everyday will be great. They eat approximate 100 Harvester ants a day. But DO NOT FEED THEM SOMETHING TOO BIG!!! If they eat anything too large there digestive system can't take it, and they might die. Though, try to make sure there main food is Harvester ants. Or meal worms (they may not eat them) but maybe more for treats. Good Luck!!!
