Watermelons are very high in sugar content, more than any other type of fruit. It is a good treat if you give it in small amounts, since a lot of sugar isn't too good for them. Of course, veggies are preferable as they are more nutrient dense than fruit. Watermelon could give them watery poops, so if they do that after giving it to them, it's nothing to be concerned about.

If, in very rare cases, the mother lovebird rejects one of her babies you are forced to hand feed. It is possible, it really depends on the bird itself. If you want a new lovebird, consider just introducing the birds first with no physical contact (i.e. two cages next to each other) and see if they get along. It is more likely for two males or a male and female to get along than two females.

It's quite rare for Peachfaces to learn to talk, although the odd few pick up a word or two. Young birds kept singly and bonded with their owners have the biggest chance of learning - very frequent repositions of the same word with the same inflictions are the key. But be aware 95% of the pet peachface owners I talk to at work (I run the bird department at my petshop) have non-talkers.
