Create the player and set your position and stats, most important choose a team. If you don't he will be on the free agents list.

Save your player and then go to the depth chart to make sure he is a starter. Once confirmed go into a game and he should be there... If you want to use him on a team in Franchise make sure you save your player/roster prior to starting a franchise. Once you start your franchise you select your team (if this is a new franchise your player should be on that team).
