Can you put nail polish on your turtles shell?

Yes, putting nail-polish on your turtle's shell does not harm it, and it is actually a common practice for breeders or sellers to put a small dot of nail-polish on a turtle's shell to mark it. While a small dot of nail polish is fine, please do not consider painting more of the shell than this, as the shell could get infected because nail-polish is toxic.

Today my two sisters bought a turtle each and put them in my tank with my own turtle, Tilly, and it was hard to tell the difference between them. We researched if it was ok to put a dot of nail polish on their shell, and now our turtles are easily told apart- one purple, one orange, and one blue! I hope this helps :)

How do you remove nail polish stains from sofa?

Well i thought that this was common knowledge or something but oh well; first of all get the stain wet, nice and moist, no need for soap though, as that could ruin your sofa if done wrong.

Then go and get a rather dry red wine, graded 1, but 2 will do the job too.

Apply this to folded up kitchen roll and dab gently a few times and then rub in circular motions. After a number of rotations you will begin to see improvement so go and grab the rest of the wine for a nice well done glass! :)

How do you remove white french manicure paint put on at the salon?

you should simply be able to use a cotton wool ball and a high quality nail polish remover. the best of which will not contain acetone as this will strip your nails of natural oils and leave them bittle , weak and prone to breakages. a good beauty store will sell acetone free remover which should easily remove manicure paint.

if this doesnt work you may be able to rub alcohol onto your nail tip which would quickly remove the paint. however this will leave nails weak so leave as a last alternative and moisturise well after using.

hope this helped. x

How do you get nail polish of of cloth?

loadsa people have said to try bug spray, Off Skintastic, Motsenbocker's Lift Off #3,or a can of acetone (and some Oxy Clean for washing afterwards). I tried the bug repellant on one spot of the comforter and ther Motsenbocker's on another. The bug repellant seemed to lighten the stain, but the Motsenbocker's was actually LIFTING the stain off of the fabric, so I switched to that. I had to spray, blot, and rub the spot with a soft-bristled toothbrush about 25-30 times, but IT COMPLETELY CAME OUT.If you use Motsenbocker's make sure you have a towel or something absorbent under whatever you are cleaning to catch the stain dripping through from the other side! if this doesn't work try the bug spray!!

What country was nail polish made in?

Nail polish seems to have been originated by the Chinese around 3000 B.C. The Japanese and Italians are thought to have been the first ones to actually use nail polish. The Chinese used a colored lacquer, made from a combination of Arabic gum, egg whites, gelatin and beeswax. They also used a mixture consisting of mashed rose, orchid and impatiens petals combined with alum.[citation needed] This mixture, when applied to nails for a few hours or overnight, leaves a color ranging from pink to red. The Egyptians used reddish-brown stains derived from henna to color their nails as well as the tips of their fingers. Today, some people still use henna dyes to draw intricate, temporary designs on their hands in a practice known as Mehndi. Chou Dynasty of 600 B.C., Chinese royalty often chose gold and silver to enhance their nails. A fifteenth-century Ming manuscript cites red and black as the colors chosen by royalty for centuries previous.[Citation needed] The Egyptians also used nail color to signify social order, with shades of red at the top. Queen Nefertiti, the wife of the king Akhenaton, colored her finger and toe nails ruby red; Cleopatra favored a deep rust red.[citation needed] Women of lower rank who colored their nails were permitted only pale hues. Incas were known for decorating their fingernails with pictures of eagles.[Citation needed] It is unclear how the practice of coloring nails progressed following these ancient beginnings. Portraits from the 17th and 18th centuries include shiny nails.[1]. By the turn of the 19th century, nails were tinted with scented red oils and polished or buffed with a chamois cloth, rather than simply painted.[2] In addition, English and US 19th century cookbooks contained directions for making nail paints. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, women still pursued a polished, rather than painted, look by massaging tinted powders and creams into their nails, then buffing them shiny. [2] One such polishing product sold around this time was Graf's Hyglo nail polish paste. [2] Some women during this period painted their nails using a clear, glossy varnish applied with camel-hair brushes.[2] When automobile paint was created around 1920, it inspired the introduction of colored nail enamels.[2] Nail polish contains nitrocellulose which is available in many different grades and is measured by viscosity. Nail grade nitrocellulose should be used for nail polish, as opposed to industrial grade which is available for use in furniture finishes, auto-paints and other various non-cosmetic lacquer finishes. Nail polish manufacturers are known to use industrial grade nitrocellulose covertly to save money, as it is half the price of the nail grade nitro. Cosmetic companies should be aware of this practice when they are choosing a pan manufacturer.

How do you bite your nails?

To bite your nails effectively, it's best to, first, soften them. This is done by simply placing the nail in your mouth for about a minute or so first, though it's recommended that you nibble while waiting...to warm up.

Once softened enough start from the side, at the end of the nail, and get a good slice. It doesn't have to be a large slice. Once you have a good grip with your teeth (the 2nd incisors work best), tear it along to the middle as much as you can do.

Work the other side similarily.

Finally, go at the center taking bits off at a time.

The long term goal is to get them as short as possible, eventually turning the nail bed into smooth skin so that you can have at least 4 millimeters of skin at the tip. Try to get your nails down to about half their width and, when you do, you can finally call yourself a nail biter. Congratulations!
