I do believe that Marlin did start in 1870, your rifle with a serial no. starting with "T" was made in 1960 S-'59 R-'58.............. U-'61 V-'62.........................

I do, but I need to know if it's a 45-70 government (trapdoor), or a 45-70 government (1895 marlin). The barrel pressure difference between the two is enormous and I would not like your gun to become a bomb. The trapdoor is 25,000 C.U.P. While the 1895 Marlin is 40,000 C.U.P. Let me know and I'll give you the data.

These models sell new from $200 to $250 approximately. It is more often sold in the $250 price range, from what I've seen (as of March 2011).

I've seen them used at generally $150 and up, depending on age and condition. The model line goes back a good many years, although the model designation has changed; ie: from 25M to 925M.

Just took mine apart today. Easy to take down to the 3 main parts: Upper receiver, Bolt spring rod, and lower receiver. I do not suggest taking down further, However, I took apart the lower receiver and it took me 2 hours to put back together. But if you really want to do it, take off the clip on the left side of the lower receiver and pull apart. Watch for all the springs!......... there is a schematic on line (Brownells) to help ID the parts if you forget how to put back together. You will need a set of punches to put back together. That would depend on the overall condition of the rifle,and bore.The age will have some bearing on the value of it also(this can be established by supplying a serial number).

Ergh...this one is a little tricky...Marlin made ONE version of the Revelation 110, the one with the 45-degree angle slant on the rear of the bolt. Same as the Model 80/81 (tube or clip mag)
