I had the same problem and spent many hours looking for one that would be the same. I found that a 2005 ford focus 4cyl auto, 98 Toyota tacoma 4cyl manual and several other vehilces use the same filter as the Massey. this is a popular filter. I spent hours researching this on napa filter specs. everything is the same for both filters such as; threads, microns,burst press., and so on. The only difference is the size, the focus one is a little bigger but it still fits.you can check for yourself on napa's site to compare the two filters. I installed it on my tractor and it works great. hope this helps.

I would start looking for the serial number (which would be stamped into the metal not cast or raised on housing) on the side or top of the bellhousing near the base of the steering column.

generally speaking the warning light is to catch y0ur attention if you are not looking at the gauges. check the symbol on the warning light and check the corresponding gauge. as they work together, for example if the oil warning light comes on that means the oil pressure is dangerously low and the oil pressure gauge will register little or no oil pressure also.

Hydraulic oil sight gauge and filler cap are located on back side of tractor below the big red warning triangle. Sight gauge is a small round window.

Do not run without hydraulic fluid, it services the transmission too !!

this loader will fit many tractors below 100hp. The problem is in the brackets, many different,depending on your tractor. I know it will fit most massey tractors with HP less than about 100. Many masseys have an inspection plate below the clutch plate with 4 bolts. The loader brackets bolt here and again toward the front of the tractor depending on the model.

You may use two different hydraulic oil 1st is a 80-90 hydraulic oil available at the same store, also the recommended orginally was a mineral oil 90w . I have found both of these at your local tractor supply stores. The mineral oil is the least expensive running about $16.99 for two gallon container. The mineral oil will say on it for Ford 1952 through the 1960 years. It is the same again as the orginal mineral oil specified in the service manual.

Both of these oils fill the transmission combination rear axle and hydraulic. There is one fill hole as you set on the drivers seat and look down at the left side of shift handle about 5 inches over you will see the hex headed plug for filling. The dip stick is on the right side below the hydraulic handles and at about heal level above the running board again as you set on the seat. There is a hole passage way that connects the transmission differetial hydraulic together about 32 quarts of oil is needed to fill don't forget to check and don't over fill. Check this level occasionally especially if you are leaking some around the pto shaft output.

The power steering can not be adjusted on a Massey Ferguson 165 tractor. Check to make sure the hydraulic reservoir is full. This is usually the cause of most steering issues.
