Irregular periods are very common for women under 20. As you get older it should balance out. People say birth control helps..But i'm not positive.

A longer, heavier period can indicate a luteal phase defect and/or lack of progesterone. You might talk with your DR concerning a progesterone regiment. This can make your cycles easier and shorter.

Also, a heavier/longer period can indicate an early missed miscarriage. If in doubt, check with your Dr who can give you an early ultrasound and blood test to see what is going on.

It can also be a uterine fibroid.

I have been in relationships with women for over 13 years, and lived in a house full of girls when I was in college. Every time, all of us synched up in pur cycles. This theory even held true to other women I worked with. It's not a lesbian thing, it's a pheromone thing. However, I have been exclusively with the same woman for over 4 years now and NOT ONCE has our period synced up. I believe it is normal to bleed for a few days after having intercourse for the first time, although if it bleeds for more than just a few days, I would go see a gynecologist, also this probably means that your first time was a little too rough. Try to take it easy your next few times, and use protection with enough lubrication as intercourse without enough lubrication can cause irritation and bleeding (yes, the vagina is a self-lubricating organ but when you put extra friction like a condom, you still probably want more lubrication).

There's nothing necessarily wrong about mid cycle spotting, if this is not a common occurrence and not accompanied by other symptoms it's likely just ovulation spotting or early menstrual spotting due to a short menstrual cycle. If you're concerned then it might be a good idea for you to mention this spotting to your doctor, but if it's a one-off it's nothing to worry about.

Yes, a high dose of B12 can affect it. I had irregular menstruation symptoms, sometimes half a year and longer without menstruating, and -always- after a high dose of B12 (oral, not injected) the menstruation started a few hours later. This is probably caused by something called intrinsic factor - stomach cells that produce intrinsic factor are destroyed or missing, without them you can't absorb B12, no matter if your diet includes more or less B12. Only very high doses may get through (or injected B12), these high doses are not present in ANY food.
