I have the same noise. It is very strange, because when I am stopped, the noise disappears, it appears when I start moving, but it does not increase as speed increases (that is what I would expect). It increases the frequency when I accelerate but only while moving. I suspect it could be related to the serpentine belt. or to the belt tensioner.

If you are stuck and need to get the car home or to your mechanic you can use a pin sized object to get you going. You will want to start the car normally. STEP ON AND HOLD THE BRAKE while using the pin to push on a small round disc (about the size of the end of a cigarette) on shifter assembly and shift the car into drive. Now the car should drive and act normally. This will get you by until you can get the car properly fixed. Keep in mind if its the brake light switch YOU ARE NOT GOING TO HAVE BRAKE LIGHTS!
