If you are on 100mgs of methadone is it ok to switch to suboxone?
Absolutely not. a Suboxone dr. won't even see you. You need to get your methadone dose down to 30mg. Then they want you off methadone for 3 days before starting Suboxone. They want you in the beginnings of w/drawals. The chemicals in Suboxone will pull the methadone out of it's receptors but not replace it right away, so the receptors remain empty and you get sick.
What drugs would make methadone show up on a drug test if you are not using methadone?
For methadone, the only thing that could cause a "false" positive is if you are a heroin user and methadone had been used to cut the heroin you'd been using recently. As strange as it sounds, this is actually not uncommon at all. I suppose the same would go for cocaine, but I have never heard of coke being cut with met.

What may result when combining alcohol with ambien seroquel and methadone?
Well first off, thats 4 different downers/depressants being taken.
Thats way too much for your body.
The ambien and alcohol and seroquel and alcohol will result in a blackout most likely.
A black out would be lucky tho because theres a good chance of dying taking all these depressants together ESPECIALLY with the alcohol mixed in.And the methadone too.
Alcohol potentiates nearly every pill and methadone a strong opiod narcotic that can cause people to nod out when taken too much or taken for that purpose.
Dont do this,it is a horrible idea.
What happens if you miss in a morphine injection?
"Missing" an injection is a term used mostly by intravenous drug abusers to describe incorrectly hitting the vein during use. A "miss" can have different results. Firstly if using a dull needle and a scratch occurs as the needle runs along the side of the rolling vein phlebitis can occur. Phlebitis is a general swelling and irritation of the vein at and around the injection site. It's mildly painful and a warm compress and a couple Ibuprophen will help. Secondly you can "blow" the vein. This is caused by too steep an angle when inserting the needle and it comes out the other side of the vein, or sometimes when you pull back to fast on the plunger to "register"and the needle pulls out leaving a hole. A blown vein instantly swells like crazy when blood from the punctured vein fills the area under the skin around the hole. It may turn black and blue right away or an hour or so after. Blown veins mostly repair themselves. Again a hot compress, or even sometimes ice will help reduce the swelling. Finally the mother of all problems from a missed shot. If you go ahead and inject the fluid (morphine in this case) when you don't hit the vein and the solution isn't sterile, or the needle is dirty an abscess can form. An abscess is when the area of tissue surrounding the vein becomes infected, a pocket of puss forms, swelling occurs, the skin in the area may turn an angry red and be hot to the touch. In severe cases, untreated, the injection site will open up into a ragged, discolored hole. There have been cases of such severe infections that the vein itself has become visible through the widened injection site. Abscesses can be very painful and if the infection enters the bloodstream can kill very rapidly. At first sign of abscess seek medical attention because prescription antibiotics will most certainly be needed.
Hello, I take methadone 10 mg for chronic pain and found out i was pregnant. I continued my treatment under the supervision of my doctor. I reduced my med to twice daily on my own accord. I felt guilty for taking the meds but was reassured because of my condition i needed to continue. I was induced and had a healthy son,..... i thought until rapid breathing and extreme withdrawal symptoms started to take it toll on my innocent newborn. The doctors told me there should only be minimum to no effects on him. He was in the hospital for a week with a food tube in his nose because he was breathing so fast he couldn't breastfeed. That week was the worst week of my life and he also had to do a six week ween off of liquid methadone and titrated it every few days. While on the med he also had a heart monitor hooked to him to monitor his breathing. This monitor had to go with him everywhere and made a ear piercing beep if something was abnormal or just a pad came off. It was bad. All in all the aftermath is good. He is a happy, healthy 18 month old boy who has no health issues. My advice, if you can get off it...for your child's sake. Do it. We were lucky and I do not wish the kind of worry and guilt that I felt on anyone. thank you. I hope this helps. Take care.

DO NOT TAKE ULTRAM/TRAMADOL WHILE ON, OR COMING OFF OF METHADONE! You can, and probably will have a Grand Mal Seizure (Which is Very Bad)! How do I know this? It happened to me 3 times! I finally found out from my Methadone clinic that you can't mix the 2, or take Ultram while coming off of Methadone. It is a HORRIBLE experience! Please heed my advice! You can DIE!

Does morphine sulphate and oxycodone work the same?
They are probably both as addictive, morphine I think is stronger, depending on the mg, though. They both are strong medicines for moderate-severe pain. Small doses of Oxycodone are usually combined with acetaminophen (generic for Tylenol), which is usually prescribed for mild-moderate conditions such as mild broken limbs, back pain, sciatica, after getting teeth pulled, etc. Whereas, morphine is normally prescribed after major surgeries, cancer, etc... more severe conditions, as well as high doses of oxycodone. So yeah, it pretty much works the same depending on the doses. I strongly suggest not to take morphine unless directed by your doctor in case of accidental overdose, or oxycodone for that matter but if you were to take anything, do not take more then 5 or 10 mgs if you've never taken it before.
Why is methadone not always successful?

Methadone toxicity is when the level of methadone in your body exceeds the level that is determined safe for your body type. Methadone has an unusually long half life (meaning is stays in your system longer than most drugs), therefore in the event of an overdose it is recommended that the patient be monitored for atleast 48 hours. The biggest risks of methadone include the depression of respiratory function (slowing down your breathing), apnea (stop breathing for intervals of time), respiratory failure, and hypotension (a bottoming out of your blood pressure). Other side effects include: rash, constipation, appitite supression, drowsiness, urinary disturbances, and decreased sexual preformace drive and ability, to name a few. Naloxone, which is an opiate antagonist, can reverse the effects of methadone overdoses in patients when given in a medical setting.
You can request the lab to a confirmation test to see if there has been a false positive for your results.
