1972: Michael's next solo album, "Ben", is released and the title track not only becomes his first solo #1 song, but also gets nominated for an Oscar and wins a Golden Globe.

1973: Michael's third solo album "Music and Me" is released.

1974: The J5 song Dancing Machine is released and peaks at #2. Michael performs this song on Soul Train and does the robot, which becomes a semi-dance craze.

1975: Michael's fourth album "Forever, Michael" is released.

1976: The J5 (minus Jermaine, replaced by Randy) switch labels from Motown to CBS and are renamed The Jacksons. They release their 1st album on the label, which include "Enjoy Yourself", "Show You The Way To Go", (which hit #1 in the UK) and "Blues Away", the earliest song written by Michael himself.
