Not true. I am living proof, got an ultrasound thinking that I was 8 weeks pregnant to detect a heartbeat, only surprise I was in fact only 6 weeks pregnant with three amniotic sacs with three embryo's meaning triplets. However, I have to wait yet again to detect any heartbeat activity.

Well it depends on how far along you are, but if it's under say, 10 weeks or so then it will just be really heavy bleeding and maybe a few blood clots. My doctor told me if you go through a pad in less than an hour, go to the doctor because you're bleeding too much. Also, depending on far you are, it can be seriously painful. Most of the time at this young of an age, you will not be able to tell the baby from a blood clot. Oh, and make sure to go to the doctor when you think it's all done to make sure all of it came out, because if not, then it can lead to serious problems. Hope this helps :)

i miscarried at 14 weeks then again at 5 weeks my second miscarriage ended just the same way your symptoms are at the moment. the only way to be sure is to go to your g.p have them take a blood test then again 2 days later to see if your hcg levels are dropping. i am very sorry if you have miscarried it is a very hard and difficult thing to over come the pain will get easier with time

it does not always mean miscarriage as some women have a bleed during pregnancy but it could also indicate a missed miscarriage which is where the baby has died for what ever reason and you haven't lost it i would suggest that you go to your g.p's and ask for an urgent scan to check if the baby has a heart beat. i had a missed miscarriage at 14 weeks pregnant my body still thought i was pregnant but the baby had died at 9 weeks and 2 days. hope this helps

Mention this to your doctor and try to get a second opinion. It may have looked like a miscarriage, but there may still be hope. I've heard about a woman who apparently miscarried and later found out that her baby was still growing inside her because the bloodflow from the "miscarriage" was too weak to rid her body of the baby. But at the same time, don't get too worked up about it, as it could be only gas.

I was actually wondering the same thing. I was on birth control when I went to visit my boyfriend for a week and about 2 weeks after returning home I got mega-bad cramping. I had some spotting that day and the next and thought it was weird but then when it came time for my period it was a few days later than normal and again I had some cramping which is abnormal for me since I had children. One day on my pad I had what looked like an approximately 1 inch light greyish colored deflated ball with a tail of about 2 inches. Then, when I wiped I had another thick 2-3 inch long piece of what appeared to be tissue. I'm not sure what all this was and was hoping to find an answer here but it seems there are many people asking this same question and no one answering it. I havn't gone to the doctor and don't think I will unless I feel ill. If anyone else has had a similar experience please let me know.
