Because of the levels of a certain hormone in your body and the way the lining of your uterus is. There are lots of ways for a doctor to know if you had a miscarriage.

He can give you a blood test right afterward that will test your levels of HCG in the blood. If it is more than two, then you were pregnant.

I would say a month or two at the most. If you feel your cycle is irregular talk to your doctor they may be able to give you medication to help it get back to normal.

The pill usually keeps your cycle on schedule, well it did for me unfortunately.

I just stopped using my birth control pills about four months ago, and my period came on for the first time again last month. I guess that this varies among females depending on body type, how long medication use, etc. I was on the pills for four years and it took 3 months for my period to start again after I stopped taking them.

Same with me. It took about 3 cycles for my system to regulate back.

I was on BCP for 13 years. I got off them and got pregnant the first month trying. When I had my baby, I got period at 4 w post partum adn got back on BCP. I have had regular periods since then.

i was on BCP for about four years and got off of them last month and my period supposed to been started about two weeks ago and haven't seen any sign of it yet. i was weighing about 115 but now i just weigh 100. some people say im lucky but trust me i dont feel like myself since ive been off

I have been off birth control also for a month and am supposed to hit my period yesterday. I had unprotected sex around the times I should have been ovulating. I dont feel like I am going to hit my period, and I has bad cramps about a week and a half ago that were off and on for two days. I took two pregnancy tests couple days ago and they were negative. Should I take a test again in a couple days? When will my period hit, its always early?

No, it won't ever. It will do nothing to prevent either girl or boy from producing a child. Use a condom or some other form of birth control. This is an old wives' tale. Please use condoms everytime you have sex, and get on some form of birth control (pills, depro provera, etc.) um, NO NO, It helps get marijuanna out of your system, but not sperm. why would it? ya right dont think that it is soooo not true NO, NO, NO, it will not prevent pregnancy. Helps with diabetes and weight loss though. I can honestly and quite safely say that vinegar won't prevent pregnancy. I like drinking vinegar, always have done, and am happpily 8 weeks pregnant. No, It wont they say it causes more of a risk that you can get pregnant and that if you drink vinegar while you are pregnant it can cause you to have a miscarrage i dont know though so.... anyway and that is a old wives tale and let me guess some people in the world do believe it but they still get pregnant like every time they have sex so please be safe not sorry use condoms and get on birth control if you dont want children at this time

It could also be something called "breakthrough bleeding". It's very normal for this to happen when one first begins taking the pill. It's harmless, albeit annoying. If you were late taking a pill or missed one, then you would start your period early. Or since you havne't been on the pill for very long, you could just need a different type of pill. If this has happened every month, that is the case. If it only happened one month, it could still be the reason. Call your doctor and ask them about it.

Your period should return within 4-6 weeks for a miscarriage or D&C, but in some cases it can last longer (7-9 weeks)

Yes it could possibly be a symptom but I would not go just on that.

A home or urine test at a clinic takes 5 minutes or less. A blood test takes a few hours to come back.

you can do a home test or clinic urine test once your period is late for the best accuracy

a blood test can be done a few days before that with accuracy.

From my experience when I was late with period and white or clear discharged I was pregnant all three times . the period never came .But it could also just mean you are late or not going to have a period this month it is normal to skip a month. Go see your GYN doctor..Good-luck

If the discharge is brownish,it could wither be your period or pregnancy,so I would go and see a doctor to confirm what the problem is

• I am 19 years old and I think I had a miscarriage. I didn't know that I was pregnant (if I even was) but I just feel deep down inside that I was pregnant. Okay so one period that I had was extremely painful that I woke up in the middle of the night with pains in my thighs and back and abdominen. It was literally the most painful period I have ever had. I was passing HUGE clots. They came out looking like sushi almost, but covered in blood. So that period finally ended. About 4 weeks later I had another period like that.
• About a week after that 2nd painful period I passed some very odd tissue. Remember I was not on my period at this time and there was no blood involved. This tissue was just sitting in my underwear, I felt no pain at this time. It was about the size of a credit card. It was a transparent brownish sack with little dots inside of it. The sack didn't have any fluid inside of it so it was flat. It kind of resembled seaweed. Not the color but the way it looked. It had wavy lines on the sack. After I saw this one I wiped and another one came out. It was not as large though. I pushed and a few more little ones came out. It may have been pieces that were originally attached to the bigger one.
• You pass clots of blood which are very dark and can be large - like egg-sized.
• I started having a brownish discharge 3 days ago. It got heavier each day. Last night I felt chilled and fevered, had camps like no other period, actually kept me awake, my legs hurt, my back also. I woke up this morning, and felt if I was having contractions, they last for about 3 hrs. What I passed was also dark red stuff. but also some was a flesh type of tissue also. • I passed a "sac-like" tissue that fell out of me which was greyish-white in color It had a small weight to it and was accompanied by blood.

• I had a brown discharge for a week, then bright red blood. After half an hour of real contractions, the placenta came out about the size of a pear (the baby died at 7 weeks, but I was 12 weeks - delayed miscarriage). This looked like a red sac with a clear side and veins attached. I thought the baby would be in the clear side of this, but the next day I passed the baby. It was the size of a grape, whitish in color but covered in blood. It did not look like the embryos you see in photos from this stage, so it may have been deformed and that could be why I miscarried. • I am 16 years old.... My fiancee (My fiancee is 19) and I found out I was pregnant on the date of 9-25-08. We where extremely excited and had plans for the future after I got out of high school. Then on the date of 10-22-08 at 8:00 P.M. I started bleeding really bad! I asked my mom if this was normal, she said it is but to wear a pad and if you filled it up within an hour then something is wrong. After an hour went by, I went to the bathroom to go check my pad again. Not much was there, but I wiped and I look in the toilet it was full of dark clots and blood. I saved the toilet paper to show my mom, she said it's not that bad, but I told her I wanted to go to the ER just in case, so we did. I got another ultrasound and we found out my baby died the 8th week of my pregnancy and I was suppose to be 11 in a half to 12 weeks. I had a delayed miscarriage, just like the person above. I left the doctor with meds for the cramps which where horrible! My back was hurting and I couldn't even sleep! Today is the date of 10-23-08. My fiancee and I are still having a hard time. And today when I changed my pad something on my pad looked like it was kind of yellow-ish tan. Don't judge me but I took a Q-tip and I moved it around. It kind of look like the baby, with its little arms and legs. But I wasn't sure. So I after wait a little longer yet. It could of been something that's in me just not the baby yet.
• Here's the good news, your lucky you didn't know you where pregnant! It couldn't have been that hard for you to find out after then. When me and my fiancee had names picked out and everything and everything planned out! My fiancee talked to my belly everyday even the night before we found out. We are heart broken. But we will get over it.
• 7 Weeks: At about 8 pm one evening, started bleeding. Went to bed, next morning, still bleeding. Stayed in bed most of the day. About 8 pm that evening (24 hrs later), the baby came out in the toilet. I felt much better and the bleeding slowed way down. The baby looked exactly like pictures of a 6 wk fetus, except bigger than what they say it should be.
• 10 Weeks: Started with a very small spot and little blood clots on a Saturday night. I wasn't too worried, but wanted to be careful, so I stayed in bed all Sunday and Monday. On Monday, the bleeding picked up and by the evening I was passing large pieces of tissue (I called liver) and blood clots. The cramping would get really bad before a "liver" fell out. These large pieces were pouchlike and are the placenta torn apart. It was like being in labor (but not as painful). Finally I was able to go to bed at 2 am. I was tired of constantly going through the tissue that fell in the toilet or in my underwear. And the doctor kept telling me that I probably won't see a baby because they didn't find one in the sonogram I had at 7wks. Well on Tuesday morning, after I went to drop the kids off at school, the cramping returned really bad. So I went to the bathroom and out came the baby. It was bigger than my previous but didn't look further developed. The cramping totally went away and the bleeding slowed way down.
• I had a miscarriage on 4/16/09 at 6 weeks. I was at work feeling cramps all day. Went to the bathroom and noticed some pink on the tissue. I called my doctors office and the nurse told me that this was okay since i was in the early stage of my pregnancy. So i went on with the day until my panties felt a little wet. I went to the rest room again and noticed bright red blood and soon after a gush of blood and a clot. I caught the clot in tissue and noticed a small white bead looking tissue and the clot had a face and kinda look like a shrimp. I knew at this point that it was not normal and i immediately left work only to find out at the doctors office what i had already suspected. I took it really hard being that it was my first pregnancy and my husbands first and he was really happy about the baby. I was so hesitant to tell him cause i knew he would take it hard. I'm just trying now to look on the brighter side of things. Now i know i can have kids so I'll try again.
• I am trying to find out if i had a miscarriage or not..im 19 and don't really have any well educated people to ask because nobody found out i was pregnant yet.. i just passed 2 preg. tests on 10-5-09, the very next day i got bad cramping and bleeding tht startd brownish red thn to a brighter red...a bit later that day i sat down to go to the bathroom and i had a red almost tail looking thing hanging an inch or 2 out of me!..i wiped and it came right out on the toilet paper..it had a white patchy looking layer under the blood--and it was thicker on one end..i checked it out and it was kind of hard.

If you've had a D+C then you are not pregnant unless you concieved again, if you just had the D+C within a day or two, it's possible you still have some pregnancy hormone (HCG) floating around your system that is causing the symptoms, It will go away soon. ~pawsalmighty

Yes you could be expecting again! The symptoms to look for are the same as the first time. Sore breasts, missed periods, moodiness ect... good luck my sister is 10 months older than i am :) oopsie i think you could be pregnant!

It's VERY rare to get a false pregnancy test, if you are concerened, you could have a test done with a doctor or a family planning clinic, but I would say that you are indeed pregnant ~pawsalmighty

A pregnancy test can remain positive for 2 weeks after a miscarriage. Sometimes longer.

I took a home pregnancy test because I 'just knew' I was pregnant! I felt exhausted all week and was SUPER sensitive to the smell of most foods, white out, gasoline (which I normally love, sick as that sounds),....I even could smell things in the room other people could not! This was all at about 3 weeks (as it turned out - I took the hpt at the start at week #4 and it was positive). I also kept putting my hands on my belly for comfort. I was all nurturing to that general area, but that may be because I detected these symptoms without out & out putting it together with "I think I'm pregnant", you know? Well it depense every woman will get an irregular period every now and then. Not all women get there periods every lets say 28 days. There are going to be times that your period comes early and sometimes that you get it late. It's nothing to worry about unless you skip an entire month then I would be worried.
