How can developing more flexible views of gender role expectations be liberating for both women and men?

By developing more flexible gender roles it allows people to be who they want to be without being forced into certain roles to meet society's expectations. Before woman's rights women were looked down on if they wore pants, had jobs, refused to have more children anything that broke the mold of what was expected of them. Now women have their own sports teams, and more jobs are open to women then there ever were. Slowly the expectations of men are changing, they no longer have to take on the full responsibility of affording a household, and are more involved in their children's lives.
