Did Moses and the Levites violate the command that stated Thou shalt not kill?
In the laws of Moses the penalty for murder and adultery was being stoned to death (Numbers 35:16, Leviticus 20:10). A number of translations of the Ten Commandments interpret 'Thou shalt not kill' as 'Thou shalt not murder' which has quite a different meaning. For example, NIV uses 'murder' in place of 'kill' in its translation (Exodus 20:13).
By this definition of kill vs murder, the state (or Moses and the Levites under his direction) would have the authority to kill people as a result of high crimes as defined in the laws.

The Pharoah of the Egypt was killing all the baby boys of the Hebrews because he was afraid of a Hebrew rebellion rising up. Moses' mother hid her son until he was about a toddler's age and then sent him off in the chance that he would live because she could no longer hide him.
How did Moses populate the earth?
There is a little confusion here. The Bible says that Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, while the earth was obviously already populated. Much earlier, when the Flood subsided, the only living persons are said to have been Noah and his family. According to the Bible, all subsequent humans are descended from Noah. Is this what you meant?
No. Most ancient people, and many modern ones, have only one name. Individuals with the same name may be distinguished by a patronymic ( e.g. Solomon son of David ), a geographical reference ( e.g. Jesus of Nazareth ), some descriptive feature ( e.g. Alexander the Great ) or a nickname ( e.g. Plato "broad shoulders").

How was Josiah's reform similar to the law of Moses?
Scripturally, the questioner may read about King Josiah in 2 Kings 23. Josiah assembled the people to RENEW the covenant given to Moses. Like Moses and Joshua before him, King Josiah followed the ancient standards for godly leadership (Joshua 8:34, 35). He read from the 'Book of the Covenant' (Exodus 24:3-8) which Moses had written all of God's commands on this probable scroll. This was placed on the side of the Ark while the Commandment tablets were placed within the Ark. As writing was a rare talent which Moses acquired while a Prince of Egypt, the people generally could not read or write therefore they responded that they would follow all the Commands God spoke - hence the strong oral tradition.
Reading 2 Chronicles 35:1-9, shows the king's own spiritual reaction and the reforms that he enacted. This suggest that the texts dealing with the covenant obligations and the sanctions (Leviticus 26, Deuteronomy 28) were part of the public reading.
What did Moses' brother Aaron do in his lifetime?

Was Morris Cargill the same person as Leminotep?
No. Carl Wint was. I am his niece. My mother is his sister. Many of his stories were based on our family.
Carl Wint
There will be a large vacant spot in The Gleaner's editorial department and in journalism without Carl. Speaking of Emancipation, Carl was a free spirit marching with high discipline to the beat of his own drum. It's a pity that in passing, he could not have bequeathed to me or another sweating writer his great gift of writing clean, smooth prose quickly and effortlessly and in great quantities. Carl cut through the tangle to the meat of the matter and said it like it was, a practical, no-nonsense man who didn't spend much time calculating personal consequences. His courage and style and person will be greatly missed.
Farewell, Leminotep.

Who was moses trying to help during the ten plagues?
It was not about "help" though that was secondary...The trick with the serpent was probably a trick, but it was no less a miracle, for the serpent (worn on the headress of Pharaoh) created by Moses's God could consume and destroy their gods. The point was that YHVH IS God. This was to lead into the ten plagues, which were progressive attacks each against another of their gods. Hapi their god of the Nile again was only the beginning by turning the waters into blood. In turn Yahweh comes against all their main gods ending triumphantly with the death of Pharaoh (their 'son of the gods' and no less a deity in their eyes).
When the waters would rise and linger (blessing their crops) the frogs would multiply....Heqt was the lord of frogs...this was a sign he was blessing them, however with Moses God controlling them they overpopulated and endangered their crops. The magicians had absolutely no control over this or any other of the plagues from now on. Control of the lice and the flies mocked Kepher who is the same as Ba'alzebub. The death of the cattle showed power over Apis (the BUll god). The boils over Thoth the god of magic and healing. Firey Hail over Nut the goddess of the sky. Seth the god of the crops was embarrassed by the plague of locusts, and RA (the Sun) was overcome by the sudden darkness. But most humiliating of all was when Pharaoh himself was overcome by his own pride and was swallowed alive in the sea.
The point was not one trick bested by another because even Apollonius of Tyana once allegedly raised a man from the dead, but the progressive demolition and embarrassment of all the major gods of Egypt was to show the people that in Israel, their God was God, the God of gods and the Lord of lords. I know this does not answer your specific question but it should add some perspective for discussion.
Did Moses' Hebrew parents fear God?
Yes, they were very devout. Moses' father, Amram, was the greatest sage of his generation.
Moses supposedly was born to a Hebrew (Habiru) and, to save his life, was cast into the river in an ark of bullrushes, whence he was rescued by Pharaoh's daughter who was tricked into putting him out to nurse with his own mother. But at a young age, he was handed back to princess as her son, in other words a member of the royal family where he no doubt became fluent in high cast Egyptian. Reared by an Egyptian princess, there was no opportunity for him to learn Hebrew. But after murdering the Egyptian he fled, and apparently conversed with the herd maid and her father (in what language Exodus(supposedly Moses himself) sayeth not). Moses had trouble keeping the name of his father in law (a Midianite) straight -- Reuel or Jethro who knew? Maybe Moses had two wives and two fathers in law with different names. Maybe there were two Exoduses (or is it Exodi?) written by two different Moseses. Who can say? When I AM commissions Moses to lead the people, and equips him with parlor tricks to convince them, Moses compains that he is not eloquent. Maybe not in Hebrew talk, but surely in Egyptian, because he has no trouble threatening pharaoh with the death of his eldest son with death. I think there were two pharaohs as well. I AM gets annoyed with Moses's whining, and appoints Aaron as PR man, perhaps because Moses does not speak Hebrew so good. When Moses and Aaron gather all the Hebrew elders together, it is Aaron who repeats the wordws I AM spake to Moses, not Moses himself. There is only one conclusion to be drawn: Moses was not fluent in Hebrew. He was certainly not mute in Egyptian and probably not in Midianite (from listening to Zipporah ya-da ya-da..)
