Moses is the most important prophet in Judaism and is also important in Christianity and Islam. Moses led the Israelites out of their slavery in Egypt, miraculously crossing a divided Red Sea. At Mount Sinai he received the Ten Commandments. He led the Israelites through 40 years of desert wandering and finally to the Promised Land. He died there, within sight of his goal, at the age of 120.

Why was Moses chosen to lead the Jews out of Egypt?
Because God chose him to do it. God didn't need to take auditions for the role of "Jewish Redeemer." I mean, He didn't search for a candidate with the right qualities to pick as leader. From the beginning of Time, He had orchestrated the Egyptian Exile and Exodus, and had chosen the main actors.
God had selected and dispatched the unique soul of Moses to Earth as part of His original master plan. The Torah describes how Moses was picked for the job for our benefit, so we could learn what it takes to qualify as a Jewish leader.
We know that Moses was pre-selected for the position, because from the day he was born his home was filled with a spiritual glow. He was also born circumcised, another sign of innate holiness.
Why did the Pharaoh change his mind and sent soldiers recapture moses and the israelites?

Moses was a great grandson of Levi. He was born 245 years after the death of Abraham. The time when Moses was born was when the Pharaoh had ordered his people to kill all Israelite male infants because he (Pharaoh) was afraid that the Israelites would become too strong for him (Exodus ch.1-2).

Yes. In fact it is often used as an example of how man tries to fulfill God's plan for him in his own power and fails. Moses had to be humbled in the desert and learn to trust God before he could fulfill the plan to free his people from Egypt.

Did Jesus do away with the law of Moses?
More accurately, Jesus FULFILLED the Law of Moses (Matthew 5:17+18), and in so doing, "…canceled the 'charge of our legal indebtedness'(the Law of Moses), which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross." ( Colossians 2:14 NIV). Jesus instituted a NEW covenant, which then made the old one 'obsolete' (Hebrews8:13), thus his death, ended the Mosaic Law. Instead of a 'handwritten covenant' of rules and regulations, like the Mosaic Law, his NEW covenant would put God's laws "…into their mind, and write them in their hearts" and in so doing would make the OLD law 'obsolete' (Hebrews 8:10+13). The coming of the Christ (Hebrews 9:16+17), was foretold through the Mosaic Law (Hebrews 10:1-12) and fulfilled in Jesus(2 Corinthians 5:21)(John 15:12/John 13:34+35/1 John 4:21).

This is a most confusing question that many Christian leaders have many different thoughts. The main problem seems to be with the timing or advent of the New Testament.
The Law of God is eternal and will one day in the future - Millennial period - be written upon the hearts and minds of all mankind - particularly the rejoined tribes of Israel and Judah into the complete House of Israel as it began. Until then, God's law is still our guide - a mirror for our lives - helping us follow the correct Way. And the only way we humans can follow God's perfect Law, is to have His Holy Spirit within us to guide and assist us. Remember, God desires to save all mankind and not just a few.
However, God has not made His Spirit generally available until after Jesus was crucified and resurrected so that He could serve as our Mediator of the New Covenant. And now, relatively few have been 'begotten' by God's Holy Spirit. These are referred to as the 'firstfruits' of God - the early harvest if you will.
The New Covenant has been initiated and awaits full implementation. The groundwork of God's Law is well established. Our Mediator sits on the Throne of God. The Old Covenant has been modified - Jesus is our perfect sacrifice and High Priest. But the future full harvest is yet to come beginning with Jesus' 2nd Coming and then the Judgement process.
Paul was inspired to tell us that the Law of God is not done away with:

Yes, of the Gentiles also, 30 since there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! The true followers of Christ - His little flock aka the elect - are today's followers of all of God's Laws. One day, each and everyone of us will be called to chose to become members of the God Family as the Scripture clearly states.
