Identical twins are the result of a single fertilized embryo splitting in two at an early stage and forming two viable embryos. As such, identical twins have identical DNA.

Fraternal twins are the result of two distinct fertilized embryos being viable. As such, they have different DNA. They could even be different sexes.

i am a twin and we're not sure if we are identical or fraternal because you can only tell by blood tests for sure but we look very alike and so we are confused a lot so if you are a soon to be parent of twins or something here is what annoys them.

1.the most annoying thing is when people assume you have the same personality because you look alike

2 the second most annoying thing is when people call you ''the twins'' its like ''dude seriously I'm not a label i have a name!!!'' its kinda of like labeling someone by their race or something like ''the native American guy'' or '' the white guy'' and it shows about not having individuality seriously people have names and we want to be called by them

3when people make you share everything. i had a really annoying teacher who was giving every body brownies and my sister didn't raise her hand but changed her mind after afew seconds and the wicked witch of the west split my brownie and was like ''your twins duh'' and first of all just because we are twins doesn't mean we shair every thing and she's not a twin how would she know?

4when people ask stupid questions like''were you Siamese twins''(actuley they are formed when the egg splits when it wasn't supposed to so single birth people are more likely to have become conjoined because our egg was meant to split and their egg was not but it could have) its like ''no you would have seen that on the news when we were born'' or ''have you dated Zach and Cody'' and I'm like 'I'm 12 there like teenagers and you would have seen it on like j-14 and how the heck would we know them and twins don't have to date twins i mean have you scene or know a couple that are bothe twins. but the most annoying queshtion is can you read eachothers thoughts ''oh yeah as we speak I'm reading her thoughts'' duh! no and when people pinch us to see if we can ''feel eachothers pain'' what imbisul tought you that?

6 when people say fraternal twins don't look alike and identical twins do actulley the difference is that when identical twins are made the egg splits so yes they look alike but fraternal twins started with 2 eggs so they don't allways look alike

7when you make enemies with one twin and began to hate the other before you Even know them cause they look alike when they might be a completely different person.

8and last when people stop to tell us apart witch actually doesn't bother me and some times makes me feel special but when people began gathering around and competing and betting on witch is witch and giving each other money is just so annoying its like GOD didn't put us on earth to entertain you people

9 when people think your not ''real'' twins if you don't have the same names or look the same

10 when people ask if there seeing double. because its random by random strangers and happens all the time. also the answer is obvious NO DUH

11 i am a vegetarian and when my sister use to ba a bipedal carnivore and ate meat when i said''I'm a vegetarian i cant eath that'' people would think she was and not give her meat

I used vitex for one complete cycle. I quit since it didn't work and the side affects were terrible - headaches & rash. 2 cycles later, I was pregnancy with identical twins. As much as I wanted twins before becoming pregnant, I wouldn't wish this on anyone. My twins were mono-mono and they have a 50% survival rate. They died when I was 5 months pregnant. I delivered them after 12 hours of induced labor in a hospital. I went home empty handed. I wished that egg never split. I wish I would have had just one healthy girl and that she would be in my arms nursing right now.

My Paternal grandfather and his sister were twins. I myself have fraternal twin boys. But none of my 1st cousins, or my sister have twins. I have two cousins who have had 3 single births so far, and my sister has had 2 single births as well. I dont know the chances of them giving birth to twins, but it does seem relatively low.

Twins are born under two conditions.

The first is when a fertilized egg splits into two embryos, resulting in identical twins. There has been no genetic link established for identical twins.

The second is when two ova are released and both are fertilised, resulting in fraternal twins. The trait to release two eggs does have a genetic relationship, but it is passed down on the female side. There are other a factors that increase this occurance, including being overweight and older.

The chances are totally unrelated to your husband being a twin.
