New Born in the first lyrics says "link it to the world" in essence he is talking about computers and technology and Matthew Bellamy has many conspiracy theorys and I believe this is one talking about how technology is taking over.

According to Matthew Bellamy, New Born is about, "A feeling of not being connected to each other, but we are, and it's a feeling of the mind evolving from the body, but when that happens you just get this yearn to do something physical and feel something sensational, physical-ness-ness."

He also stated that, "It's about a semi-fear of the evolution of technology, and how in reality it's destroying all humanity. My fear is that we can't control it because it's moving faster than we are, so the songs setting myself in a location in the future where the body is no longer important and everyone's plugged into a network. The opening line is 'link it to the world', so it's connecting yourself on a worldwide scale and being born into another reality, in a way it's on the same lines as the film The Matrix, but we weren't intending on copying their idea on technology and how it has evolved."

Matthew Bellamy has said the album was inspired by the love story in George Orwell's 1984. Which is all about big brother and how they are watching us.

And United states of Eurasia was inspired by The Grand Chessboard by Zbigniew Brzezinski. About how Eurasia could be a much powerful force than every other continent.

The symphony on the other hand was a piece Matt had been working on for a long time, and since they produced the album their selves he could finally put the symphony there as it was a risky thing to try on an album.

In my personal opinion a brilliant album that takes a lot of guts to put out there after the previous four.

None of their songs has ever been used in a Bulmers advert.

They're from the UK. More specifically, they're from Teignmouth, Devon. They grew up together there, and the song Falling Down from their album Showbiz is supposedly about their old hometown.
