What caused conflicts between new England colonies and native Americans?

I want you to imagine for a minute you are sitting in your backyard and an alien ship lands. They tell you that you no longer have a right to the land and you have to move. With them they bring plants and animals that are not native to the environment, build fences, and cut down the forests on the lands you have taken care of for centuries. Your ancestors are buried on these lands and yet these invaders just take the land as theirs. This is what happened when the the English colonies began. Not only did they take the land, but they discriminated, and killed the native Americans as much as they could. The end result was the movement of the people off their lands and put on reservations.

What facts help you make the generalization that most of the new England colonies were founded for relidious reasons?

Most of the New England colonies, such as Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, were established by groups seeking religious freedom and the opportunity to practice their faith without persecution. The Puritans, who founded Massachusetts Bay Colony, aimed to create a "city upon a hill" based on their religious ideals. Additionally, dissenters like Roger Williams and Anne Hutchinson were expelled from Puritan settlements and went on to establish colonies like Rhode Island that emphasized religious tolerance. These foundational beliefs and events highlight the religious motivations behind the establishment of New England colonies.

Why did New England and chesapeake split?

New England and the Chesapeake region split primarily due to differences in their settlement patterns, economies, and social structures. New England was predominantly settled by Puritan families seeking religious freedom, leading to a more communal and family-oriented society with a focus on agriculture and trade. In contrast, the Chesapeake region, settled mainly by single male indentured servants and later enslaved Africans, developed a plantation economy reliant on tobacco, resulting in a more hierarchical and individualistic culture. These fundamental differences in motivations and lifestyles ultimately led to distinct regional identities.

New England mint?

The New England Mint produces items not authorized by the US mint. There is almost no collector value to them. They make terrible investments. The Obama stuff they are selling won't be of any value 100 years into the future, let alone 5 or 10 years later, same with the rest of the stuff they try to sell you. While I wouldn't classify them exactly as "scam artists" (though, there are others who have ordered from them and not received the products they ordered, but I haven't ordered from them, nor will I, so I can't really comment, but there are other questions about them which say they will simply take your money without giving you the product you ordered) the things they sell have no collector value and are essentially worthless. They use words like "rare" to describe the $2 bill, a mint-condition $2 bill from the 1970s isn't really worth any more than $2 (yes, it might be worth $4 to a serious collector but there are very few of them who would want such a bill) the $2 bills aren't rare, ask your bank for some and they will order some from the Federal Reserve for you. Please, do not waste your money on things that have no value. If you really, really, really want to pay $6 for a half dollar simply because it has Obama's image on it, go right ahead, but it will be worth no more than 50 cents 100 years from now.

If you want to invest in coins, go to your local coin shop and get some old 90% pre-1965 coins, or some brand new Silver Eagles. If silver keeps on going up, they will increase in value with it regardless of collector demand. For example, the silver dimes I bought just about 3 years ago when silver was $15 an ounce for just a bit over $1 each, are now worth over $2 each. On the other hand, private mint stuff like the New England and Franklin Mint items from the 70s and 80s are still sitting on eBay with no one even wanting to buy them for the price that people paid for them back then.

What irritated me when I found this website was the lack of a physical address or postal address. This caused me to go on Google and type in "New England Mint rip off."

Why did delegates from the New England states meet at the Hartford Convention in December 1814?

SI: The New England states considered seceding from the Union because of the War of 1812.

By the end of 1814, the New England states were not happy that the War of 1812 was still going on. New England merchants and shippers suffered financial losses because of the War of 1812 and the embargoes that preceded the war. The New England states even threatened to secede from the Union because they felt that the federal government was not acting in New England's best interests. Delegates from the New England states convened in Hartford, Connecticut on December 15, 1814. Their meetings continued until January 5, 1815. The New England states did not secede, but they did come up with five amendments that they thought should be added to the Constitution.
