Controlling the notes of the distortion is really an art, and Hendrix had far more control over the process than Cobain ever did. In general, feedback is undesirable, but if you want to play with it, turn up your amplifier very loud and hold the pickups in front of the speaker. Hold a chord, and it will feedback (somewhat) in the same key you are trying to play in.>
