Loosen the bolt at the top of the caliper assembly (should be a 1/2 or 9/16). Pull the assembly down. If its hard, just tap it at the top with a hammer or pry it off with a flathead screwdriver. Remove the old brake pads and compress the caliper with a c clamp. Install the new pads and raise the assembly back into place. Tighten the bolt and you're done. Note: start with the side under the master cylinder. There should be no need to add any brake fluid. Just pump about 5 or 6 times omce you finish.
There is a long stick behind the seat that has a key on the end of it. Take it out and stick it into the like shaped hole by the rear license plate. Once inserted into the tube crank it(not sure if it's clockwise or counter) until the tire drops down. If you don't have the long stick fashion one out of a nail and a pair of vicegrips and climb under the rear of the truck and do the same thing with your homemade key.
be more specific about what info you need,we can get the info you need,ok.
blower motor has a short. replace blower motor
Yes
4 cylinder have chain and 6 have belts.
yes you do,also if it has a cluch damper, you need to bleed it also, its bolted on left side firewall or just follow the line coming from clutch master cylinder.good luck.
I can supply you with a picture if you get in touch with me.
The same way you set the timing of any Z24 engine. The vehicle it is in makes no difference. Do you know how to use a timing gun.
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
On some models, the alternator is mounted very low on the engine. On these models, it may be necessary to remove the gravel shield and work from beneath the truck in order to gain access to the alternator.
To install:
Starter solenoid sticking. Replace the solenoid if it is external. If it is internal, then just replace thee starter. It will cost a little more but you will have a new starter and solenoid.
It could be a intake or exhaust manifold leak.Dirty fuel filter, check air filter, check vacuum lines, check charcoal canister filter, its on bottom, just remove from spring and tilt up .it cost 2.00 at auto zone, check catalac converter, have you been having carb. problems,Ihave 85 with z24 engine,Ireplaced carb. with a weber 32/36 carb. kit,you can chech them out at weber direct.com,but you have to get carb. kit,it will change your vacuum lines and eliminate a lot of valves and you will plug some outlets too, they don't give you a diagram for the changes, but if you decide to get one ,I will show you a diagram,go to you tube and look up 85 Nissan 4x4 silverbullet and check out my video,if you can leave a comment, thanks, tom
Yes it has 2 speed sensors. On is in the trans. And the other is in the speedometer head.
Overdrive is designed and set to only work when you are at full throttle. The overdrive switch is located at the end of the accelerators travel on your carb or Fuel injection. You can adjust it to work at a lower level, but I wouldn't recommend it as it is only for emergency acceleration and hills.
The fuel pressure for a 1990 D 21 pickup is dependent upon the size of the engine. In general, the fuel pressure should be approximately 20 pounds per square inch.
There should be a sticker on the radiator shroud that gives timing and spark gap values. All the Chevys I've done say 0 degrees btdc. Warm up the engine. Turn it off and unplug timing wire. On later models, the connector is located near the distributor (except for 1995 models; on these, it's located under the dash, below the glove box). Tan wire with a black stripe. Set timing to 0. Turn engine off. Plug timing wire back together. Reset ECM. ECM will recalibrate after driving a while.

CAUTION
When draining the coolant, keep in mind that cats and dogs are attracted by ethylene glycol antifreeze, and are quite likely to drink any that is left in an uncovered container or in puddles on the ground. This will prove fatal in sufficient quantity. Always drain the coolant into a sealable container. Coolant should be reused unless it is contaminated or several years old.
If necessary, disconnect the upper radiator hose at the water outlet.
That would be right next to the blinker fluid hose that goes into the block.
The timing marks are on the belt and the sprockets. not on the engine! the box that the belt is supplied in shows the mark locations. well i use Gates belts and these do!
First: Remove negative terminal on battery so you have no potential voltage at the starter.
It is one of the easiest of jobs doing yourself. First, jack up the front passenger side of the truck. Remove the tire. Now, carefully remove the rubber/plastic skirting in the fender well to expose the side of the engine where the starter is. Remove the two "easy to reach bolts" holding the starter in place. Unplug starter at connector. Remove main cable from battery but "remember the position/direction it is in to avoid difficulty" with the re-installation of new starter. Reverse process & surpise, job well done. Skirting might be old, so have large fender washers and self-tapping screws to re-attach skirting into place if plastic tabs are broken. Note: Be careful screws don't puncture anything on the other side. 1/2 long screws work well. Paint flat black to hide and reinstall the tire. Great job.
