What brands of oatmeal are gluten free?

Whole Earth Corn Flakes and Maple Frosted Flakes, Dove Farm corn flakes, Mesa Sunrise Flakes.

The best in my view are Whole Earth Maple Frosted. Plain corn flakes are a bit bland, which is why malt flavouring is added to most brands. Whole Earth replace the malt with maple syrup, which is of course a very popular breakfast flavour, especially in the USA

Why are oats grown?

Porridge is a Scottish dish.

Many Scots emigrated to North America.

It seemed silly to ship oats from Scotland when they could be grown in America.

What do you put in oatmeal?

Is oatmeal better raw or cooked?

yes they do because cooked oats are also raw oats but just softened

No this is wrong! You must properly prepare oats by soaking them over night and then cooking them for a long time. Why? Well, think about it logically. Oats can last for a long time in storage, and in the wild. Why? Because they contain powerful enzyme inhibitors that stop the degradation, google phytic acid as one example. These will inhibit mineral absorption throughout your G.I. tract and deplete you of minerals. They will eventually lead to the build up of toxins and slow you down. So, no they are not just softened!!!

If you mean oats as in oatmeal, the answer is yes. Those oats have already been cooked and you are just rehydrating them when you make the oatmeal. Old fashioned oats (those that cook in 5 minutes) and the instant oatmeal are all precooked. The old fashioned oats aren't as highly processed as the instant.

Is oatmeal a compound?

No.

A compound is a mixture of several elements compounded together.

Masa harina is sometimes confused with cornmeal. Masa is made soaking cornmeal in lime water, then grinding it into a fine flour and an agent is (optionally, but commonly) added to prevent caking. By adding the anti-caking agent, you create a compound, but cornmeal is ground fairly coarse, and no caking agent is required.

How many calories in 2 packs of oatmeal?

You can't generalize an answer to all oatmeals, since calories will depend on processing and additives, like sugar, fruit, milk, and so on. One packet of Quaker Oats whole grain unsweetened plain instant oatmeal, without milk, is 100 calories, according to the nutritional information on the box. Double it for two packets. Your results may vary depending on the type and brand you're asking about. The same brand with raisins and spice has 150 per pack, for example. Irish style and stone ground oatmeals tend to be higher than the plain.

Where are oats digested?

It depends on the texture. Instant oats are pressed very thin and so are digested quite a bit faster than traditional oats or, at the other end steel-cut oats. The downside to steel-cut oats must be cooked, usually for around 30 minutes before they can be eaten, whereas instant oats just need hot water.

How much carbs are in OAT MEAL?

There are approximately 27 grams of carbohydrates per serving of oatmeal (1/2 cup dry). Obviously, carbohydrate content will be higher if you are using the pre-sweetened instant oatmeal packets or add brown sugar, etc.
