Yes, Owl City's song, "On the Wing" is featured in a 2010 Buick Enclave commercial.
Adam Young, best known by his one-man-band name, Owl City, does not yet have a Christian album on the market. He does, however, have his own versions of two Christian songs on Youtube. He did a cover of "How Deep the Father's Love for Us" and also a cover of "In Christ Alone (My Hope Is Found)". He also has subtly Christian songs that he has written himself on his albums. On his most recent album, "All Things Bright and Beautiful", he has a song called Galaxies that mentions God as the Only Hope of the world. There is also a song on that same album called "Kamikaze", which is the story of the downfall of the world into sin, and the hope that we have if we are Christians because our Captain is someday returning to take us home. Also, the song "Meteor Shower" from the album "Ocean Eyes" is a tribute to his Creator (God). I hope that Adam Young will soon come out with an album of all Christian hymns and songs! :)
Owl City (Adam Young) has received two plaques for his single Fireflies which went Gold and then Platinum (four times).
Adam Young recieved a gold and platinum plaque for his single Fireflies which went platinum four times (quadruple meter). Fireflies was one of 8 songs in the world ever to do so.
She Never died, the song "Vanilla Twilight" was wrote about a girl he dated in high school that moved away. She didn't die in a car crash, she didn't have cancer, she didn't have asthma and die, she is still alive, some people messed up the lyrics to "Vanilla Twilight" when listening to it and they started that rumor.
Adam told spin.com this:
"I spent last summer mountain climbing with a host family in Tibet and actually witnessed a live avalanche from across an immense ravine. Needless to say, it was both terrifying and awe inspiring. After returning home that night, I slouched on the couch and ate a bowl of Cheerios with fresh strawberries. I thought getting hit in the face by a huge strawberry avalanche would be the most romantic way to 'buy the farm.' And I'm the farthest thing from a farmer."
I think a strawberry avalanche is what you feel when everything around you is perfect and you feel happy and free. A sudden rush of sweet happiness that overcomes you and you do not want it to ever stop.
No. But you shouldn't be getting married until you're at least 18. I myself am 16 and im with someone i love very much and plan to marry some day if things go right. that's IF they go right. you don't want to rush into things because people change alot as they age. you might love things the way they are right now but after a while things will change and its something no one can avoid. so just wait until he is ready . if you know your ready then its a game of waiting.this is my first time 2 do this so hope it helped someone :) .. and boys???? .... MAN UP AND PROPOE ALREADY :P
Engagement is not actually a legally binding agreement and as such it's fine to get engaged at the age of 16.
Marriage though, I have to agree, is something far more serious. 18 is early to marry as well because you still have a lot of "growing" to do. Not physically (hopefully) but mentally and spiritually. You are going to change our mind about many things, and you are going to see things from a different perspective.
Hopefully the love for your boyfriend/girlfriend will remain and you will only feel more sure of each other after staying together for a few years. If it is meant to be, waiting will make no difference :)
Owl City curently has (as of 2012) four albums and one EP. Here they are in the order of release:

During the gap in 2010, Adam Young (Owl City) released his earlier works under the name of Sky Sailing. The name of the album was An Airplane Carried Me To Bed.
There are many metaphors (Ex: "But drenched in Vanilla Twilight...") You can't be drnced in Vanillla Twilight, but it doesn't say like or as, so its a metophor or another example, "The stars lean down to kiss you...." and those are the first lryics!
A rainbow accourence in the sky causes everyone to notice it, and bring them together to watch it
The Owl City song To the Sky is much like Owl City's other music--borderline nonsensical at times, and yet, very meaningful.
To me, To the Sky is about letting go of your fear and embracing the adventure life has waiting. It's about living life to the fullest and enjoying every moment, knowing that there will be difficulties, but knowing that even in the darkest moments, there is hope.
It also has Christian undertones when Adam mentions a "realm above the trees" where "the lost are finally found."
Adam Young. He is the lead singer of the band, and he also does everything else. You could call Owl City a 'one-man band'.
There seem to be multiple interpretations of this song, but personally, I think of it as a song about growing up. It speaks of that awkward stage where a person is no longer a child, but is not quite an adult. There is a great deal of nostalgia in the song. The lyrics speak of wanting to slow time down and not wanting to let go of the things that bind the singer to his childhood--shown in the keeping of fireflies in a jar. Yet there is hope in the future - in "dreams [that] are bursting at the seams."
No. Adam Young went to public schools. He went to Owatonna Senior High School.
Adam Young has been inspired by many different people and things, but he claims his biggest inspiration is God.
"Fireflies" by Owl City does not have a specific moral purpose. However, it is commonly interpreted as a reminiscence of his childhood.
I gotta feeling...
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night
A feeling... Woohoo
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night
Tonight's the night,
Let's live it up
I got my money,
Let's spend it up
Go out and smash it
Like oh my God
Jump off that sofa,
Let's get, get off
I know that we'll have a ball
If we get down and go out and just lose it all
I feel stressed out, I wanna let it go
Let's go way out spaced out
And losing all control
(Chi CHi Chi)
Fill up my cup,
mazel tov
Look at her dancing,
Just take it off
Let's paint the town,
We'll shut it down
Let's burn the roof,
And then we'll do it again
Let's do it,
Let's do it,
Let's do it,
Let's do it
And do it and do it,
Let's live it up
And do it and do it
And do it, do it, do it
Let's do it, let's do it,
Let's do it
'Cause I gotta feeling, woohoo,
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night
A feeling, woohoo,
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good night
That tonight's gonna be a good, good night
I gotta a feeling
Tonight's the night

Well, first of all, not to be a grammer nazi, but it's "so many people", not "so much people".
To answer your question, I'm sure one of the main things is that it's a change from what is considered popular music these days. It's upbeat and soft, and Adam's voice is a quite unique one.
The overall tone, too, is one of silliness and not much sense. Most other songs have a specific point they are centered around, (usually relationships,) and are pretty straightforward, but Fireflies is about what seems, on the surface, to be a type of bug. Closer inspection reveals that it may have many different subject matters, depending on what you want to believe! The opportunity for opinions and metaphors is incredible.
Mainly, however, it all comes down to public mood. It is hard to calculate what type of song the majority of people will like, and believe me, record companies have been trying for years and years! To use some popular phrases with not much actual reasoning behind them, it's catchy, and it's easy to listen to.
I think that's the best I can answer your question.
Breanne Duren is the girl who sings with Adam Young (Owl City) in The Saltwater Room.
Owl City is a one man band for his recordings, but while live he has a drummer a violin player a Chello player, a back up guitar player, and Breanne Duren (She is a lot of the back up vocals in the songs like the saltwater room) Who plays one keyboard for him and sings.
Yes, Adam was in a couple of other bands as a matter of fact. Owl City obviously being his most popular. The ones I know of are: Swimming with Dolphins(myspace.com/swimmingwithdolphins), Port Blue(http://www.myspace.com/portblue), Insect Airport(http://www.myspace.com/insectairport), Seagull Orchestra (http://www.myspace.com/seagullorchestra), and Windsor Airlift(http://www.myspace.com/windsorairlift). The last three of the bands mentioned (Insect Airport, Seagull Orchestra, and Windsor Airlift) are no longer making music from my understanding. Hope this helps! Also one of his past band names is sky sailing.
