For the most part no, while there are some exceptions like Olie Lang most players are given gear, air fair and hotel when going to an event but no paycheck. Some receive very but all of their games, practices and travel costs are paid for by the sponsoring party and they have some form of a job back home when the event is over.

There is no limit but you need at least 3 people for a 3v3 match. There are no 2v2 or 1v1 matches except on special tournament occassions as a suprise match. Some teams have 50 people in them but only play 5 at a time or 7 at a time. Some teams are scenario teams and have anywhere from 100 to 1000 members that play about 5 games a year.
