I ran a campaign on TrendPiler to gauge the popularity of Coke vs. Pepsi. The campaign collected and analyzed about 167K data points from social media.

• Pepsi is clearly more popular among Netizen compared to Coke.
• Coke however got less negative sentiment compared to Pepsi.
• The highest data points were generated from the United States. Pepsi is slightly more popular than Coke in the US.
• Pepsi has steadily maintained its popularity overtime

Years ago I worked for Pepsi/7-up. It's a secret recipe and it's in the vats of syrup they use. No one but the company heads know what is in that recipe. Coke use to be the leading soft drink manufacturer for years until Pepsi came along and the battle has been raging on to the present time. Pepsi also put out Mountain Dew which wasn't the biggest seller and I do believe they dropped it. Actress Joan Crawford's husband owned Pepsi and when he died she took over for awhile, but that was back in the late 1960s.
