The reverse on a waverunner works very similarly to the reverse on a jet plane. A mechanism called a "reverse gate" drops down over the jet on the back of the Waverunner. The reverse gate changes the direction of the thrust so that it goes forward instead of backward. With the thrust going forward, the Waverunner goes backward for the same reason it goes forward with the thurst going backward.
Note that switching into reverse at speed or using the reverse at high speed or using the reverse as a brake can rip the pump out of the back of the Waverunner. The reverse is only intended for low-speed maneuvering.

I am assuming that your question is "How do I get the water out of the engine after it has sucked it into the engine" what I do is As soon as possible, I pull the ski onto a trailer, take it out of the water, pull the spark plugs, and turn the engine over, letting as much of the water as possible shoot out of the cylinders.. when the majority of the water is gone, I put the plugs back in, and turn the engine over until it starts. this will remove all of the water, and re-lubricate the cylinders, thus preventing rust in the engine.. You can also do this while in the water if need be, it will tend to wear down the battery quicker tho..

Why is the crank case full of water on a bombardier jet ski?
The most common reason a crank case would be full of water is due to improper flushing, leaving the water running when the engine is not running. Other possible causes include improper towing (too high a speed or without a hose pincher) and sinking.
Repairs must be accomplished immediately or permanent engine damage will result. Remove the spark plugs and crank the engine until no more water comes out. Use caution not to overheat the starter. Charge the battery as needed to maintain the ability to crank the engine. Then put the spark plugs back in and attempt to start the engine.
You must get the engine running as soon as possible.
Once you have the engine running, turn on the water to cool the engine and exhaust. Run the engine at idle for about four minutes. (You can skip this step if you can get the jet ski on the water immediately.)
Ideally, get the jet ski on the water as soon as possible and ride it for at least ten minutes. This will get the oil and engine up to full temperature and force out any remaining water.

I'm not familiar with this exact brand, but in general, when an engine is frozen up, you want to remove the spark plugs and try turning the flywheel manually. Sometimes squirting WD-40 or other oil in the combustion chamber will help free it up. If it still won't turn, you will need to disassemble it. An electric motor is similar. Clean all the contacts, and try to break through the rust and/or corrosion by turning it manually. Check the brushes, rotor, and stator for damage and continuity. You might get lucky and find it just needed a little help or new brushes.
