No. A pirate can be from any country or any place and is a group of people who steal on the high seas. A Viking was a particular nationality from Scandinavia and raided mainly on land along coastlines. They also created settlements/colonies in places like Newfoundland. After a time, the Vikings settled into other lands and became part of the population adding to the art, culture, and languages of the people where they settled.

It was pretty rough. The food was bad, dried beef, hard tack, and dried peas. There was no bathroom, nothing to wash in ( so they stank), and no sleeping quarters ( just the captain had a bunk). They had stale water or ale to drink. Usually ships in this time had a lot of cats for the rats and mice that were on board. The men were criminals and cut throats so it was also dangerous. So, we had a ship full of stinky dangerous men who liked to rob ships and sink them.

not really like in the movies but they did attack british and american ships in the colonization of americas when the trade routes from britian and america ships would cross and they would attack the ship and take the "treasurers" on board. not like the pirates of the caribbean where they go into a cave. similar to todays samoly pirates that kill and take people for ransom in south east africa.

Principally they are afraid of navies. Or any agency that enforces the law in the case of video pirates etc.

Depending on whether they had a royal charter, they were either "Privateers" (with a charter) or Pirates (without a charter). Sometimes it was ambiguous whether or not they had a valid charter.

Real pirates? if real, they couldn't go really fast because they were only steered by sails and maybe paddles. if its modern boats, really fast due to advances in technologies with the addition of high powered engines.
