When pirates wore stripes, it was to identify them to each other and to the people they preyed upon. It was a way of striking fear into people and the custom of the people during that time to wear distinctive uniforms dependent on class.
Did any famous pirates wear an eye patch?
Actually yes they did. The reason wasn't because they lost that eye but for fighting on a ship. When they would go below deck, they would move the patch from the eye that was covered to the eye that was in the light. The eye that was covered was already acclimated to the dark. They wasn't blinded by going from bright sunlight into darkness.

Assuming you are referring to pirates of an earlier era, say perhaps in the 17th - 18th centuries, when frilly lace shirts and muskets were all the rage, pirates generally tended to make their waste into buckets or makeshift chamberpots when they were unable to avail themselves of the ocean. These buckets, which were secured in a discrete corner of their quarters, were emptied into the sea at regular intervals.
Of course, on land, pirates went to the toilet wherever they liked, and they've got a cutlass and a parrot that dare you to stop them.

The Jolly Roger, a.k.a. skull and crossbones, is the name generally given to all pirate flags. However, different pirates flew different flags. Pirate flags were used to wage psychological warfare on their enemies. Pirate flags were designed to threaten, intimidate and spread fear & dread amongst all that encountered the pirate. A pirate flag's history was an important element in building the fearsome reputation of the pirate vessel. Many pirate flags had a red or black background. The flag was often embellished with threatening symbols, such as a skull, bones, skeleton, cutlass and hourglass.
Why do pirates have feathers in there hats?
I imagine because it has that pirate look, or maybe because it stays on the head at sea!
It is known that many pirate crews (at least of the Golden Age of Piracy which I believe you are asking about) forbid having children on board, and it is safe to assume that this was a common if not universal policy. It is definitely possible, though, that there were children who snuck on board or lied about their age, but I don't know of any such case.
What time periods did the pirates live?
The first reference to behaviour that could be described as piracy is by the ancient Egyptians referring to the 'Sea Peoples'.
These ferocious maritime raiders attacked both shipping and coastal settlements during a period known as the 'New Kingdom' which stretched from 1600 to 1100BC. They appear to have been active throughout the Mediterranean during this period.
The first recorded Viking raids were in the 7th Century AD so the Sea Peoples predate the Vikings by at least 2000 years.
