What causes Circumvallate papillae?

For about 3 months I was having discomfort on the back of my tongue. At some points it was painful but most of the time it was just irritating. It felt as though there was something in the back of my throat I could not swallow. After multiple trips to the Doctor and came up with no answers. This frustrated me very much and I also panicked about the possibilities. Through searching online I tried taking a daily Pro-biotic pill. After about 2 or 3 weeks of taking the pro-biotic the feeling was completely gone! I havent had any problems for about a month now and I continue to take the pro biotic daily. I highly recommend trying this method if you have no health issues that a pro biotic could affect. It worked for me and it was the greatest relief!! Good luck! and dont panic!

Is it possible to have a miscarriage and not the pass the tissue of the fetus?

Yes you can.

Sometimes the baby dies but you do not 'miscarry' it.

Eventually you will probably pass it but sometimes you may need to be induced.

Unfortunately this is called a missed abortion.

DICTIONARY

Abortion. Medical term for termination of pregnancy by any means before the fetus (baby) is able to survive.

Threatened abortion. Bleeding and/or cramps with the fetus still alive and the cervix (neck of the wonb) still closed.

May go on to become

Inevitable abortion. (Miscarriage) Cervix opens and fetus is lost.

Incomplete abortion. Some of the products of conception (fetus and/or placenta) are retained.

Therapeutic abortion. Termination of pregnancy by a medical practitioner.

D and C. Dilation and Curettage. Operation whereby the gynecologist opens the cervix (dilation) and scrapes (curettes) the lining of the uteus (womb) to remove the products of conception. May follow an incomplete abortion.

Oh my god, 212 months pregnant? That is definitely too long. A normal pregnancy lasts only 9 months. 212 months, that is more than 17 years!!! Incredible!!!

37 weeks pregnant with placenta maturation?

During this period your uterus is stretched to the max. You can feel your body change to fit the baby. Your placenta is at a mature point during the pregnancy.

What does placenta expiring?

Yes, It happened to me when I was pregnant with my first baby. The placenta stoped feeding the baby and he stoped growing so I had to be induced immediatly after my doctor confirmt that the placenta had expired.

Does a placenta and fetus pass at 6-7 weeks of pregnancy?

You probably won't see anything. Try to avoid a D&C unless Dr says it is a 'missed miscarriage'. Some of my early miscarriages at 5-6 weeks were re-absorbed or may be went down the toilet (horrible I know, I tied to avoid that). Once I found what might have been an embryo, grey, with 2 dark dots that were may be were eyes. I just had my eighth miscarriage, this time at 10 weeks, baby probably stopped growing around 6-8 weeks, I 'gave birth' to an embryo and a placenta.

Don't give up hope for next time, I have 2 kids, age 5 and 6 years old.

Louise.

Exchange of gases nutrients and wastes between the fetal and maternal sides of the placenta occurs by?

* Oxygen is transported across the placenta combined with Haemoglobin in the mother's blood. The mother and fetus have different types of haemoglobin - fetal haemoglobin has a higher affinity for oxygen than maternal haemoglobin. As a result when the mothers Oxyhaemoglobin dissociates to form Haemoglobin and Oxygen, the fetal Haemoglobin picks up the oxygen 'dropped' from the mother's blood.

* Waste gases such as carbon dioxide diffuse down a concentration gradient, passively out into the mother's blood.

* Water crosses the placenta by osmosis, due partly to differences in blood pressure of the mother and fetus, and hence down a water potential gradient. Again, this is a passive process.

* Glucose crosses the placenta by facilitated diffusion, involving carrier proteins in the plasma membranes. It is also passive as it occurs down a concentration gradient. * Ions such as Na+, K+, Ca2+ and Fe3+, as well as amino acids and vitamins are thought to cross by active transport, and this requires energy in the form of ATP.

* Fatty acids and possibly antibodies are thought to cross the placenta by pinocytosis. This is also an active process, requiring ATP.

What is the meaning of 'unremarkable placenta'?

Can you use blood from the placenta for a blood transfusion?

You can use it to transfer small amounts of powerful stem cells from person to person. As for blood, I'd assume yes (because that's where the stem cells are located). However, do not quote me on that

Is it common to have two placentas developing during pregnancy one empty and one with a live fetus What will happen to the empty sac as the pregnancy progresses?

It is not common, but it happens. You probably conceived twins and one did not develop, it is called a blighted ovum. If you had conceived a single baby and it had not developed you would have had a miscarriage, but the healthy fetus is preventing this. As the healthy baby grows the second placenta will probably be overtaken by the good one. An area of thickening may be found when you have your baby.

Do amoebas have placenta?

yes they do,it comes out of the anal area

What substances pass through the placenta?

Carbon dioxide and other such waste gases diffuse from the foetus and across the placenta into the mother's blood. Urea (excretory product) also diffuses into the mother's blood. (The substances in bold will answer question).
