Does Jupiter have canyons?

Jupiter does not have canyons like those found on rocky planets. Jupiter is a gas giant composed mostly of hydrogen and helium, with no solid surface to form canyons. However, it does have a turbulent atmosphere with massive storms and vortices.

What is Jupiters atmosphere like?

Email Composition

Emails are often written in an informal style, and are generally brief.

The text of an email is entered in the main body of the message. The most important tip for writing an email message is brevity (see netiquette -- be brief). People typically get so many emails in a day that a long email often doesn't get read until later -- sometimes much, much later, if at all.

Remember that you can copy text from a document or another email and paste it into a new email, so you don't have to retype text. Many email programs will also let you paste pictures and documents directly into your message.

Email is more informal than paper mail because it is used with more frequency and immediacy. Unless it is a personal letter, email usually gets right to the point without a lengthy introduction. Many people don't include a "Dear Sir" clause, and often do not include a signoff, letting the "To:" and "From:" fields speak for themselves. Signatures can also include a standard signoff.

Make sure that you have turned off any word wrap options that cut lines into standard lengths by inserting carriage returns, since these are unnecessary and cause formatting problems with most modern email programs. You can avoid having the formatting of your email get messed up by putting your email in Text Standard Format.

How long has Jupiter been around for?

Jupiter is estimated to have formed about 4.5 billion years ago, around the same time as the rest of the solar system. It is one of the oldest celestial bodies and has been around for billions of years.

How many days in a year on Jupiter?

Jupiter has around 10 hours shorter day compared to Earth. It revolves around the sun once in about 11.86 Earth years. So, a year on Jupiter is roughly equivalent to 4,332 Earth days.

How much Time taken to orbit the sun for each planet in your solar system?

Mercury-87.96,

Venus-224.68,

Earth-365.26,

Mars-686.95,

Jupiter-4337,

Saturn-10760,

Uranus-30700,

Neptune-60200,

Pluto-90780 (dwarf planet)

hope this helped x

Why does Jupiter have the shortest day?

Jupiter has the shortest day among the planets because it has the fastest rotation on its axis, completing one rotation in about 10 hours. This rapid rotation speed is a result of Jupiter's large size and mass, which causes faster spinning due to conservation of angular momentum.

How strong is the gravitational force on earth?

The force that the planet Earth applies on an object(the force is also called weight) depends on the mass of the object. It is not constant. The formula is:

Weight = mass x acceleration due to gravity

Acceleration due to gravity has a constant value on Earth: 9.81 m s-2

However, it is not constant everywhere in the universe. It depends on the planet you are on. Mass, however, is constant.

What type of planet is Jupiter?

Jupiter is a gas giant planet, made mostly of hydrogen and helium with no solid surface. It is the largest planet in our solar system and known for its massive size and powerful storms, including the famous Great Red Spot.

What is the temperture of Jupiter?

Jupiter has a vast range of temperatures, and there is no definable surface within the dense atmosphere.

The outermost cloud layers are exposed to the near-absolute-zero temperatures of space, while the core of the planet has high temperatures because of the intense pressure of the atmosphere planet bearing down at it. At the cloud tops, the temperature of Jupiter is thought to be as low as -161° C (112 K). Deeper into the atmosphere, temperatures increase to as high as 36000° near the rocky core.
Jupiter's temperature ranges from -234o_ 17,540.33oF.
-166 degrees Fahrenheit.
-230 degrees Fahrenheit

Is there oxygen on Jupiter?

Jupiter is almost all Hydrogen and Helium. There are tiny amounts of other things, but Oxygen would be less than 1%.

Fifth planet from the sun?

Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun in our solar system. It is a gas giant and is the largest planet, known for its distinct bands of clouds and its many moons.

What is the name of the largest planet in the Solar system?

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. More than 1,300 Earths would fit inside Jupiter. What is Jupiter made of? Well Jupiter is made of gas, and is called a “gas giant”. It is covered with red, brown, yellow and white clouds. The cloud give an effect that seems if Jupiter had stripes. Jupiter is very windy. Faster than tornadoes.

How do hurricanes and cyclones affect the surface of the earth?

Hurricanes and cyclones can cause significant damage to the earth's surface through high winds, heavy rainfall, and storm surges. These events can lead to erosion of coastlines, flooding, and destruction of infrastructure such as buildings and vegetation. The impact of hurricanes and cyclones can vary depending on the intensity of the storm and the vulnerability of the affected area.

Jupiter isn't a planet because it is made out of air but it is classified as a planet - so why is Pluto not a planet?

Jupiter is considered a planet in spite of the fact that it is gaseous because it orbits the Sun, is spherical, and cleared all matter from its orbit. The gas that it is made of is still matter and the center has very dense liquid and frozen solids, as well as a rocky core. Its gravitational pull also influences asteroids in the asteroid belt between Jupiter and Mars by altering their orbits around the Sun. Pluto is smaller than some planetary moons and is closer in size to large asteroids such as Ceres. It is now classified as a dwarf planet, along with several even more- distant icy planetoids. Two such objects, Eris, and Sedna may be larger than Pluto. (See links)

There exists a large number of undiscovered small planetoids (plutoids) that are smaller than Pluto but occupy similar orbits. Some may eventually be designated dwarf planets as well.

_____________________________________________________________

The codified IAU definition of a planet does not consider whether a planet is mostly solid or gas, but all have solid cores. There is a new requirement (primary object in its orbit) that Pluto simply does not live up to. Not only Jupiter, but Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus are also mostly gas by volume. (see discussion)

----- It has not cleared its orbit. It shares its orbit with many other asteroids and dwarf-planets in the Kuiper Belt, where Pluto spends most of its time. The idea of Pluto coming within Neptune's orbit is somewhat misunderstood. Indeed Pluto is closer to the sun than Neptune for very roughly 15 or 20 years of Pluto's 248 year orbit, but there is no danger that the two will collide. Their orbits do not actually intersect. Their movements are harmonically locked. For every three orbits of Neptune, there are two orbits of Pluto. Because of this some say that Pluto could even be considered a very unusual satellite of Neptune. But Pluto's relationship with Neptune is not a reason for it being considered a dwarf planet. As a note, if Neptune could be an obstacle to Pluto's status as a planet, then Pluto would be an obstacle for Neptune to be considered a planet! Because of the harmonic relationship between the two, Pluto is not considered a piece of debris that Neptune has not yet captured. Neptune will never capture it.

What is the length of a year on Jupiter?

Jupiter's orbit is roughly 11.86 Earth Years.

What is the equatorial diameter of Jupiter?

Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System, having a diameter of 142,984 km at its equator. 142,984 Kilometers = just over 88,846 Miles

How can a day be longer than a year?

Venus takes 224.7 Earth days to revolve about the Sun and 243.02 Earth days to rotate about its axis (which it does clockwise, opposite to most of the other planets). This rotation period is a "sidereal day", the time to revolve around the Sun is a Venus "year".

Mercury takes 88 Earth days to go around the Sun, so its year is 88 Earth days. It spins slowly, taking 58.6 Earth days. A "solar day" on Mercury takes 176 Earth days because of this slow spin relative to the time taken to orbit.

So Venus has a sidereal day longer than its year and Mercury has a solar day

longer than its year.

What is the closest planet to Jupiter?

Mars is potentially the closest planet at a minimum distance of 3.68 AU. That varies. Mars would typically be the closest planet, but earth would be closest when earth and Jupiter are on the same side of the sun and Mars is on the opposite side.

At 10 AU, Saturn would almost always be further from Jupiter than Mercury or Venus. When Mars and Jupiter are on opposite sides of the sun, the distance between them is eight AU, whereas the distance between Jupiter and Saturn when they are lined up on the same side of the sun is 5 AU. That means when even earth (1 AU) is on the opposite side from Jupiter and Saturn (Jupiter and Saturn are in daylight), Saturn would be slightly closer.

Most of the time, however, Mars would be the closest planet to Jupiter.

Is Jupiter bigger than the Sun?

Jupiter is 10 times smaller than the Sun and it is 1/1000 the mass of the sun.

Who discovered Jupiter?

The planet is and always has been visible to the naked eye and has therefore been know to everyone since prehistoric times. If any one person discovered it, that person's name is long lost to history.

It was not until Galileo improved the telescope in 1610 that the 4 largest moons circling Jupiter became known.

What is the planet with the most moons?

The planet with the most moons in our solar system is Jupiter.

Does mass change on different planets?

No, you mass does not change in different planets, but your weight does, because your mass is the amount of matter. If you got to mars, for example only the gravity will change and the amount of particles in your body.

The short answer is no.

Think about it this way 120 pounds of steel on earth weighs 120 pounds. The proper way of explaining it would be the earths gravitational pull exerts a force of 120 pounds on the mass of iron. If you took the same piece of iron to the moon it would weight 20 pounds. The proper way of explaining it would be the moon's gravitation pull exerts a force of twenty pounds on the mass of iron.

It is the same piece of iron in both cases it just weighs different amounts because the amount of gravitation force is different between the moon and and earth.

What would you weigh on Jupiter?

You'd weigh just over twice that on Earth

  • 1lb = 2.364lb
  • 5lb = 11.82lb
  • 10lb = 23.46lb
  • 25lb = 59.1lb
  • 50lb = 118.2lb
  • 100lb = 236.4lb.
  • 250lb = 591lb
  • 500lb = 1182lb

or just multiply x 2.364

See related link for different weights and on other planets
