yes! if menstruation is late it can't always mean pregnancy,it can be other things like stress or can be a medical condition ,besides that pregnancy tests are not accurate at times so it's always nice to head off the obgyn and make sure of everything for further notice in case there is anything going on.

It could mean twins as they can cause a higher level of the HCG hormone that pregnancy tests detect. It could also mean it was a faulty test. You should wait a week to retest, or visit your doctor for a blood test.

It took me 8 weeks to get my period after I naturally miscarried at 12 weeks, though the abdominal sac was only dated 6 weeks 2 days. If you are testing very early on, I would suggest you kick it old school and go with first morning urine. Many of the latest pregnancy tests no longer require this but morning urine will still contain the greatest amount of HCG if it is present. It truly depends on how early you are doing the testing. Depends on what kind you take. If you take a HTP (Home Pregnancy Test) it would take 2-3 minutes just to find out. If your taking a blood test, it takes from 1-3 days to get the results in depending on if your health provider sends off the blood tests or can do blood tests in their own office.

Yes you could be pregnant, the regular tests may not be sensitive enough to pick up the hormone. You can take another test when you miss your period to confirm it.
