I am in 6th grade and what I have learned is be yourself, do not act cool, don't try TO hard to impress him, become friends with him, don't flirt (trust me!), be nice, try to be interested in what he is (like cars or sports) and talk to him! Good luck! It worked for me!

As a sixth grade teacher I would say like it is in the novel "It is the best of times and it is the worst of times." First each day you'll find fantastic changes and everyone is going through them physically and academically. One day your best friend will want to dress up as an adult and you'll say, "Great. I'll dress as an adult tomorrow." When you show up they are a child again.
What's good about that is because of all the changes going on you are quickly forgiven for any mistakes and each day you get closer to being adult like, adolescent.

So I'm in fifth grade myself and I'm in love with my best guy friend so these are the things I did

1)talk to him a lot and ask him for his number

2)flirt with him a lot

3)if he lives in your neighborhood or lives near by then you could ask him to hang out with you

4)don't ever ever EVER tell your best friend that you like someone cuz 1)she might not be relialbe 2)she might be jealous and 3)she might tell everyone you like someone

5)make sure he's single cuz you dot want to be embarrassed in front of him

6)ask him if you wanna be more than best friends if he says ok congrats if he says no then don't be depressed just say ok then try again later when you're like 12 or something if he stills says no then just find someone else don't be disapointed

alright, man. I'm a girl myself. and i know if the girl rejects you, she probably wants no part of you. you can either back off if you don't wanna work hard at it or you can wait a few weeks and socialize with her without flirting. wait a few years and become her best friend, then you can admit that you still like her. Usually jokes that involve someone elses life but not their best friend or something. That would be very bad news to you. If your a guy and you tell a hurtful joke about their friend, you will probably get a knee in the nuts.

It's really scarey for a girl when a boy likes them! Especially at 11 or 12 years old, so its safest to be friends without all the "likeing". That way, you can be with her a lot, but not have to worry that she's freaking out. Like you are already.

Then, you can see if he likes that other sport too, and there you go - a common liking.

Play sports, or buy some cool new clothes you think he might like, and try to get his attention. From there on, BE YOURSELF as much as possible, and talk to him a lot, about his hobbies, or favorite things to do. I think you will have some sort of a connection, and he might start to like you.
