I am going to chance your question slightly. By puberty I am going to say around the general time of your period. So every one when a girl/woman gets her period (or just before) her body "evens up" or tries to perfect the dimensions. So if you have say one eye slightly higher than your other then around this time you should notice a slight chance. What I am getting to is that maybe around this time your lips are becoming fuller. The reason our bodies change around this time is so that we can attract the opposite sex as this is the perfect time for us to get pregnant and produce more humans. Is it a good thing - if it looks good yes. There isn' t anything really you should be worried about!

During puberty, there is a strong possibility that children develop body image issues. That is because there is a lot of competition and comparison among children .

It also means that your body is going to change in ways you could not even imagine... it's going to start making smells that most people call body odor from glands called apocrine sweat glands in your armpits and pubic areas.

I do not think you have anything to worry about. If you were asking these questions at age of 18 or 20 years, then I could understand your concerns. Just give yourself a few years and you should be ok.

As for the foreskin not retracting, you know, it is so silly to think that you have to do things to hurt yourself or to be like somebody else. Just because someone says you have to retract your foreskin why do you think you have to do it? The reasoning is not correct that if a foreskin isn't retractable it can cause problems with cleaning and sex, and if it doesn't retract it's not functioning properly.

There actually are millions of men in the world at any one time, myself included, who do not retract their foreskin. I have a number of current patients in a similar condition and have, in the past, treated men in Europe, Asia and other countries with the condition of tight foreskin. Not one that I have personally met and not one that I have ever read about has a problem with cleaning. Nor do they have problems with masturbation or sex. And I have to join with them in saying that it is ridiculous to suggest that our penises are not functioning properly.

Your penis and your foreskin are a unique team. They work together almost always in perfect harmony. Some guys have a foreskin that retracts, so they retract it. Some guys have a foreskin that does not retract, so they leave it alone. Some guys have had their foreskin removed and no longer have a choice. If you are watching videos, then the guys are probably porn stars and they do so much drugs and other stuff that their sexuality is no longer normal in any case. I would not worry about them.

If your foreskin does not easily retract, do not try to force it to. It does not have to. You do not have to pull the foreskin back to put a condom on, to masturbate, or to have sex. It is an absolute nonsense to think so. Only fools will tell you this is necessary.

Some people label a tight foreskin as phimosis. Generally people with a tight foreskin do not have phimosis, they just have a tight foreskin. There are millions of guys in the world with this condition which is quite normal. The only abnormal thing is when you try to stretch a foreskin that does not need to be stretched or try to use medications that rarely have any beneficial result.

The unfortunate thing is that retraction has been taught, mainly in USA, because personal hygiene was not taught. Washing a penis with the foreskin covered (not retracted) is very easily achieved and very efficient. Any boy or man can be shown how to do it if they are having a problem. The same goes for masturbation or sex. Many will argue that it is much more effective and it certainly feels great. I cant compare it to an open foreskin, because I have never done it that way.

Just leave your foreskin as it was intended to be. Anything you do to yourself that hurts is normally not a good thing to do, so don't do it.

If you're a girl and you haven't gotten your period or breasts yet, just chill out. Everything comes in when it's supposed to and it takes a while. Girls usually start puberty earlier than boys. 11-12 is the average starting age for girls, 18 being the end. For boys, they start a little later at around the age of 13 and continue to grow until they're usually 18-20.

No, when you shave your pubic hair the hair does not stay spikey forever. The hair will grow in spikey because it was cut during shaving so this leaves a blunt end, but as hair grows it may soften. Once you stop shaving the hairs will start to grow back in naturally, thus not spikey either.

Due to the increase in hormones, the brain can become overloaded with different signals. This can cause mood swings and even depression in extreme cases. So one day, the child could be as happy as anything, and the next hates you and wants nothing to do with you. Just remain supportive and understand what they are going through - remember: you were there once!

Looking back on being a teenager it was one of the oddest and most bewildering of times... you transform from being a child into a physical adult.. it is chaos. the brain is utterly transformed in that time.

For boys the visible signs of puberty... growth of hair on your scrotum and in the region of your penis (also around your anus), growth of hair on your ankles and in your armpits. Growth of facial hair. Your penis will get longer and thicker, your scrotum will get darker in colour and hang lower to accomodate the increasing size of your testes. You will sweat more and your sweat will begin to smell. You may get spots and blackheads. You will grow taller and your muscles will develop. You will find yourself think about sex a lot and you will get erections. You may find yourself mentally comparing the size of your own penis with the penises of other boys in the showers at school, this doesn't necessarily mean that you are gay, just that you are curious which is perfectly normal. You may also feel the urge to masturbate and when you do at some point you will eventually produce sperm. Oh and your voice will "break" and lower in pitch as your larynx (voice box or Adam's apple) enlarges.

You will probably be getting your period soon, if this is not it. When I first started mine, it was so light that I thought it was just spotting. It later got heavier. If this isn't it, you will be getting it very soon. Go ahead and stock up on pads, or tampons if you prefer. You should tell your Mom about it and ask her how hers was when she first started. Chances are, you will be like her and this will help you learn what to expect.
