Does Answers.com pay contributors?

No WikiAnswers does not pay its contributors. The only "money" that is given out is during holiday events and AnswerThons. The CA (Community Assistant/Manager) team is the only group that gets paid to contribute to Answers.com.

AnswerOops, made a boo-boo. Thought you were asking about the board. It doesn't matter who is asking you a question if you don't want to answer it then simply say, "I'd rather not discuss it." I am sure the person is going to be curious, but stand your ground. We don't always have to answer everyone's questions.It also depends on what kind of question....

Also lack of sleep and to much T.V. can attribute difficulty with concentration.
Lack of vitamin intake and a fatty diet can also keep concentration low.
It is medically known that, drinking plenty of water and eating the right foods boost the brains power to recall and remember.
Reading or studying in place with the least amounts of distraction are all so key to remembering. Last but not least repeating things slowly to yourself 4 times with you easy closed can lock it in the brain visually.
Simple Example: the spelling for Mississippi, while looking at this word spell it twice. Then close your eyes once you have the shapes of letters and the order locked in spell it twice again.
Whenever you are out or going places look at the things around you and repeat to yourself what you see. In cases of attacks and\or car accidents being witness to things all depend on how well you know your surroundings. It is good for children as well if they should become lost.
ex: Mommy is wearing...I see two street lights......she\he has blue eyes...... pick certain things to pick out upon arriving later you will find they help in remembering.
Not creep anyone out but stalkers, rapist, cereal killers are successful in getting there pray because the repeat to themselves the things they recall about their victims constantly. They cannot write it down for fear of being caught. Pattern is always the way to remember things.

There is no way to recommend an answer mainly because answers can be changed. A once popular answer changed into an un-popular one and vice versa. But if you think an answer is good be sure to recommend the contributor.

You don't need Facebook . . . if you already have an Answers.com account.
The skinny is that a new contributor who has not previously signed up, finds, when he attempts to sign up for an account with WikiAnswers, that WikiAnswers gives him only one mechanism for signing up. That mechanism is to use Facebook's signup mechanism.
Create a new account on your computer, use a different browser, or try incognito mode in Google Chrome, when not already in incognito mode.
Then try to sign In to Answers.com. You will have only two choices: Sign in with your already existing Answers.com account, or sign in with Facebook.
There is no option for creating an Answers,com membership from scratch. If you don't have a "grandfathered" Answers.com membership, your only option is to sign in with Facebook. And to do so, you must either have, or must create, a Facebook account.

Why can WikiAnswers not answer?

Some questions are answered almost immediately. Some questions are never answered, or turn out to be unanswerable.
WikiAnswers is a "question and answer co-op." Everything -- the questions and the answers -- is contributed by visitors just like you.
Questions remain unanswered until someone volunteers an answer. Fortunately, there are a number of intelligent people who are remarkably generous with their time.
Advice- If you want fast answers or a lot of information at once, you should probably try a search engine like www.google.com or www.dogpile.com
- If you want word definitions, you should try an online dictionary (or a real one)
- If you want to chat, you should try an online chat room or a social networking website like www.myspace.com or www.facebook.com
- Make sure that you include enough precise informationfor your question to be answered. For example, avoid questions like 'What was life like in California in those days?' Instead, ask something like 'Did the Spaniards have much influence on everyday life in California when it was part of the Spanish Empire?'
- Don't expect WikiAnswers to do your homework for you - we will be happy to help you figure out how to do the work, but we are not specifically a homework website.
- Try not to ask questions that require a gigantic answer. It's not reasonable to expect someone to whip out 100 pages of single spaced text for you, so questions like "Tell me everything about Ecology", aren't likely to get answered. Narrow it down a little.

Wiki Answers is a contributor driven website. That means that ordinary people on line take the time to answer questions if they know the answer. Perhaps the person that knows the answer to your question isn't online yet.
Some people do not know the answer to the question. Also, some people submit silly questions that people do not want to answer. Even if I do not know the answer I research the questions and anwer the question.
Answer:
To be interesting enough fo a person to answer a quetsion it must be :
- In the format of a question
- Clear - what do you want to know
- In reasonably good English so there are no mystery words
- Not inane or nonsense
- Interesting
- Not obviously homework

The answers come from all over the world, from a lot of different people. It isn't just one person or one group of people. This is a wiki... and being a wiki basically means that anyone can help. Anyone can come and ask a question on our site, and anyone can come and answer one... or edit the spelling, or make the answer better. We try to work together so that we get good answers.
