In the fairy tale "Rapunzel," she was likely a teenager when she left the tower. However, her exact age is not specified in the story.
In the story of "Rapunzel," the enchantress is often referred to as Dame Gothel or Mother Gothel. She is the witch who takes Rapunzel and raises her in a tower.
Rapunzel is a type of plant. It is more commonly called rampion. The leaves and roots are edible. According to the fairy tale, Rapunzel was named after the pretty flowers of this plant.
The story of Rapunzel takes place in a tower located deep in the forest. Rapunzel is held captive by a witch who keeps her isolated from the outside world.
In Rapunzel's story, the falling action occurs when the prince is blinded and Rapunzel is banished to a desert, where she gives birth to twins. The action continues as the prince wanders the wilderness until he reunites with Rapunzel and their love heals his blindness.
The setting of the story "Rapunzel" is typically a tower located deep in a forest.
Rapunzel was twelve years old when the witch locked her in the tower, but she was probably older when the prince found her. The story doesn't tell us how old exactly.
You can read the original story (an English translation) in the link below.
Although classic story of Rapunzel comes from the Grimm Brothers, the tale can be traced back to similar tales from Italy and France. As is true with many tales, the first literary traces of the tale come from Giambattista Basile's Pentamerone(1637). Basile wrote about Petrosinella in his tale, with the heroine's name being derived from "petrosine" for parsley. There are many similarities in the tale to Rapunzel with a few differences. In Basile's tale the heroic pair elopes instead of suffering before discovering each other years after the witch curses them.
Sixty years later in 1697, Charlotte Rose de Caumont de la Force, a French aristocrat, published her own version of the tale. Her collection of Fairy Tales included "Persinette" (once again "persille" is parsley) which had obvious direct ties to Basile's tale. This tale is almost exactly like Rapunzel excepting the more detailed ending in which the heroes suffer even more after their reunion in the wilderness. Finally, the angry fairy spares them after finding mercy in herself. Then the couple lives happily ever after.
One of the main themes in Rapunzel is the concept of isolation and freedom. Rapunzel is kept hidden away in a tower, symbolizing isolation, but she eventually gains freedom when she meets the prince. Another theme is the idea of self-discovery and empowerment as Rapunzel learns to rely on herself and make her own choices.
I belive that the moral of the story RAPUNZEL is that, " when one is destined to have something in their life, then no one, by any of their powers, can stop that from happening."

Yes, Mandy Moore DID do the voice for Rapunzel in the video game. She did give a hint that she did the voice to the Disney Radio 365 group. She said that she just LOVES the game and that she thinks her voice sounds pretty good.

Though no specific, official date is given, I like to believe her birthday is May 13th or at least sometime in May since it's a time when it's warm enough to be running barefoot but not sweltering hot. Another reason I like to believe this is because the birthflower for May is a lily like the magic golden flower that gave Rapunzel's hair healing powers and took up the majority of her wedding bouquet in the Disney short Tangled Ever After. I've also read that sunflowers are sometimes considered a birthflower for May, which I find coincidental since the magic golden flower grew from a drop of sun. Also, the birthstone for May is an emerald like Rapunzel's large green eyes and mean success in love, which she had with Flynn/Eugene. If we want to get into the horoscope, pseudoscientific branch of the subject, children born in May are supposedly motivated, beautiful physically and mentally, understanding, artistic and high spirited dreamers who love to travel. If she was born on May 13th, that would make her a Taurus, whose characteristics include determination, generosity, affection, creativity, cleverness, patience, warm-heartedness, dependability, and being good-natured. One more point in the pseudoscientific horoscope area for the specific date mentioned, as published in this quite interesting "Fortune-Telling Birthday Book" published by Chronicle Books, characteristics of those born on May 13th are honesty, sincerity, intellect, occasionally moodiness, usual kindness and lovableness, and fond of traveling and self-improving opportunities. So though no official birthdate has been given, I believe I've given enough to proof to say that she was at least born in May :)
In the movie "Tangled" she is captured because an old lady uses Rapunzel's hair to make herself young again. Her long hair is magic - it glows when she sings. When the old lady brushes her hair and Rapunzel sings, the old lady turns young again. The reason Rapunzel's hair is magic is because her mum, when she was pregnant, got sick and in order for the baby (Rapunzel) to survive the mother had to drink the magic flower juice, then when Rapunzel was born she had magic blond hair. The old lady captured her when she was a baby and keeps her locked away because if Rapunzel's hair gets cut it turns brown and is no longer magic. The old lady fears that if Rapunzel goes out into society, someone will cut her hair and the old lady can longer use its magic to make herself young again. The old lady once tried to cut Rapunzel's hair and it turned brown - that's how she knows.
That's what the movie says anyway.
