I have a GE Profile refrigerator that was bought in 2004 that has a specific problem of everything freezing up in the refrigerator. Even after setting the digital temperature of 40 degrees, when we open it in the morning it shows below freezing. The problem is caused by a broken damper door. It is located on the top of the refrigerator on the back wall and has the words "climate keeper on it". I know this doesnt look like anything much but this is the source of all the problems. The replacement part number is wr17x11508 OR WR49X10091
1.First, turn off the refrigerator and unplug, take out the top 3 shelves from the refrigerator and the light bulbs.
2. Take off the cover from the water filter.
3. Take off the light cover at the top by removing the one screw you see and take out the 2 screws holding the front in after the shield is removed.
4. Push down on the plastic long piece that goes all the down the back of the fridge in the back wall of the unit.
5. Now you can take out the 4 screws holding the damper/fan assembly in(marked Climate keeper). There are 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom.
6. Now you should be able to remove it from the fridge after squeezing the electrical connector together and pulling it apart carefully.
7. To verify the broken door problem, take the tape off the styrofoam back to reveal the broken door.
Note:Call GE and tell them your problem and the service bulletin on this problem exists and they might send you a replacement for free.

Why is the Ice maker is not making ice or it is very small?
This type of problem could be caused by the water valve or the temperature in the freezer. If the temperature gets above 5 degrees, the ice-maker production will start slowing down. If the temperature is all right, to determine if the ice-maker or water valve is the problem, the ice-maker will need to be cycled. To cycle the ice-maker pull the front cover off and you will see some test terminals. Now place a well-insulated jumper between the T & H terminals. Be very careful this is a live check. This will cycle the icemaker and after the ejector has freed the cubes in the mold, remove the jumper. Towards the end of the cycle, it should fill with water for 7.5 seconds and get approx. 4.5 ounces of water. If the fill time is correct but the water fill is low, the water valve will need to be replaced. If the fill time is less, first try adjusting the water fill at the icemaker. If the cubes are still too small, the icemaker will need to be replaced. I would also suggest getting a qualified technician out to do the test.
