What is the order of the respiratory system?
I'm not sure I understand the question- if you want a list of respiratory diseases for an assignment for your science class, here are a few: Asthma Pulmonary Disease (something smokers get) Croup (something children get) Common cold bronchitis Hope that helps! Heather (an MD from Canada)
How is the heart related to respiratory system?
The main part is the nerves the nerves tell your body to move.
What are the the three things that occur in the respiratory system as a person ages?
Functional Consequences of Age-Related Changes Affecting Respiratory Function
Decreased elastic recoil and early airway closure.
When you inspire to take a breath what happens to the pressure and volume in the lungs?
When the diaphragm contracts the lungs are pulled down. This creates space in the lungs for air to rush in because air pressure is greater outside the body than inside the body. So in order to reach an equilibrium the air outside rushes into the lungs when you inhale.
To my little knowledge of the body, the lungs collapse on exhaling and expand on inhaling. As the brain controls everything, except the heart, the heart has cells which can think for itself. If the brain stopped functioning, the heart can still beat as long as it has oxygen in the lungs. As soon as the air is used up the heart will eventually stop. When you sleep your heart keeps the lungs inhaling and exhaling to maintain life until you awake. Then the brain goes into a rest period and just gives the heart and lungs a slight electric shock to keep them going. If Im wrong here please let me know.
The importance of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems working and functioning together correctly is to keep you alive.
Respiratory takes in oxygen and expels CO2
Cardiovascular transports both around your body
In the upper respiratory tract, you have ciliated cells and mucosal glands that help keep particles out of the lower respiratory tract. Where the very thin type 1 cells faciliate gas exchange.
What is the function of the respiratory system system?
The respitory system (sinus, treakea, lungs) fills brings air to a place where oxygen in the air can be transferred to the blood which then carries it throughout the body. The respiratory system also removes carbon dioxide, a cellular waste product, from the body.
What is the respiratory organ of a man?
The respiratory organs of man are called the lungs. The lungs are located in the chest and are protected by the rib cage.
How is air warmed and moistened as it passes through the nasal cavity?
The inhaled air 'swirls' around the conchae
moistens via the mucus secreted by the goblet cells and drainage from the nasolacrimal ducts; cleans by the mucus trapping dust particles and the cilia moving the mucus and trapped dust particles toward the pharynx
How does a harbor seal's respiratory system work?
they breath through their gills and they breath out like us but the only difference is that they have gills and lungs.
What organ system does the nose larynx and lungs belong to?
The nose, larynx and lungs belong to the respiratory system
In which organelles does lipid metabolism occurs?
beta oxidation is the breakdown of fatty acids..occurs in mitochondria
What is the site for gas exchange?
the organ that is involved in gas exchange is the lung.
the specific lung structure that is the site for gas exchange is the alveolus which is part of the alveoli, which is found in the lung.
What percentage of exhaled breath is CO2?
The air we breath in is roughly 21% O2 and 0.04% CO2 and we breath out air that is 16% O2 and 4% CO2
Ailments of respiratory system and its treatment?
This is such a broad question. The respiratory system is prone to many ailments. The treatments will differ based on the ailment and the severity. Respiratory ailments range anywhere from common cold to tension pneumothorax. Perhaps the most common ailments are COPD related. Things such as emphysema, bronchitis, and asthma. All three ailments require some sort of bronchodilator or sympathomimetic such as albuterol or epinephrine. In the field, we can administer SVN, or small volume nebulizer masks to relax the passages (bronchioles) in the lungs.
What structure of the human respiratory system is altered by emphysema?
destruction in the air sacks distal to the terminal bronchiol or in simple term the destruction of alveoli. The chest usually become hyperinflated due to the excessive action of sucking the air in due to the obstruction
What is the name of the organs responsible for the process of gas exchange?
The respiratory system functions in gas exchange. In doing so, it works closely with the circulatory system, and is aided by the nervous, muscular and skeletal systems.
Does the mouth belong to the digestive system or respiratory?
Your mouth is part of both the digestive and the respiratory system.
It belongs to the digestive system, because it adds saliva, which helps break down the starches before further digestion in the stomach. Ptyalin is one of the important chemicals. Additionally, of course the mastication definitely aids the digestive process.
And it belongs to the respiratory system for under exercise, it becomes the main entry way for air. But probably without the moisturizing qualities added by the passage through the nose.
What four major areas does air pass through in the respitory system?
veins, arteries, windpipe, and lungs. The lungs count as one.
What is Pulmonary valve stenosis also called?
I guess you refer to the pulmonary valve stenosis which usually is due to the valve calcification when less blood supply will go from right ventricle of heart to the pulmonary circulation. The right ventricle will be hypertrophied because it's working harder then before.
