Drain the coolant from the petcock valve on the drivers side of the radiator using a hose to direct the flow of coolant to a container such as a gallon water jug. Remove the front bumper, headlights, radiator fan. Disconnect all coolant hoses. remove the intercooler. Disconnect the oil cooler from the readiator but leave the oil lines hooked up.

To adjust the clutch pedal on a Saab the clutch line needs to be bled. Bleeding the clutch line will allow any air to escape and stiffen up the pedal.

i have bee trying to find out the exact same thing and so far from what i have read, the whole front end has to come off to replace the radiator in a 98 saab 900. did you find any other way to do it?

mine was at the garage yesterday, and they took out the carpet around the passenger footwell, behind the controls for access.

I am assuming this is not a 2003 Saab 93 convertible. I don't have any specific details about that particular model.

All other 2003 Saab 93s take a BCI group size 48[1] battery. This battery is available (in the USA) almost anywhere that sells car batteries, even if they don't list the Saab 93 in their application guide. A BCI group 47 battery, which is smaller, can also be used if a group 48 battery is not available.

To replace the battery:

1. remove the battery cover (two plastic screw clips)

2. make sure the key is out of the ignition switch,

3. disconnect the negative terminal with a wrench

4. disconnect the positive terminal with a wrench

5. use a socket and an extension to remove the battery hold-down on the edge of the battery

6. remove the battery from the tray

To install the battery:

1. put the battery in the tray

2. use a socket and an extension to tighten the hold-down on the edge of the battery (if you use a group 47 battery you will need to install the hold-down bolt in a different hole than it was in with the original group 48 size battery).

3. connect the positive terminal with a wrench. (It may be necessary to trim the edge of the battery tray with a file due to the fact that many group 48/47 batteries are a little shorter than the original battery. If the terminal hits the edge of the battery tray this is why)

4. connect the negative terminal with a wrench.

5. replace the battery cover.

[1]In the USA car battery sizes are specified as group sizes. In Europe DIN sizes are used. I have no idea what the equivalent DIN sizes for the Saab battery are, but in Europe I suspect there will be no problem finding on that fits.

obd2 were required on 96 and later cars, and by the specifications for it, it should be under the steering column or have a label there telling where it is. Earlier cars have the more generic obd sensors, which can be slightly different between manufacturers.

As such a reader for obd2 is not usually compatible with older cars. I am not sure where the obe sensor is on pre-1996 saab 900s.

87-89 saabs are the same. go in the hatchback area just above where the spare tire sits and you will have to remove the screws holding down the carpet, once removed you will see a access panel. remove the 2 screws and you will see the fuel pump it has a big rubber piece around it.
