Toss your salad with just enough Caesar dressing to coat the leaves; too much dressing will make your lettuce or other greens lose their crispness too soon and go limp.
In some places cocktail sauce a mayonnaise sauce and in other places it is not. There are just many different recipes for cocktail sauce. Mexican cocktail sauce has lime in it.
Pizza Inn's. Miracle Whip dash garlic powder, black olive juice and celery seed. I used to work for Pizza Inn when I was just out of high school. and made this Pizza inn House dressing. We also added parsley flakes. I don't know exact amounts though. Main part was miracle whip and black olive juice. From Ed: I too worked for Pizza Inn (in Dallas in the early 70's) ... I remember having to add some fennel seed as well. The dressing was good stuff, especially on sub sandwiches. The recipe was created by Pizza Inn founder's (Joe Spillman's) mother. The black olive juice was used to cut/thin down all of the dressings - thousand island, and whatever else we had back then.
I can't think of why not, but then again I can't think of why you'd want to either.

There is usually some kind of fat, such as vegetable or olive oil. Often, an acid, such as vinegar or lemon juice, is included, as are various spices and sometimes sugar. The most basic salad dressing is probably oil and vinegar. Pick an oil, pick a vinegar, pour some on your salad. Jk! It's made of pig SShhiitt!

Well, given that Wish Bone is still selling salad dressings, all over the country, these are the possible answers to the question:
If your local store has stopped selling Wish bone dressings all together, that is something you need to take up with the manager of the store. And if you do, remember: "A spoonful of honey . . ."
If a store has quit selling ONLY the Wish Bone "Western", it is because it was one of their lowest sellers. They can't profit from that, so they drop it. Sorry.
Here is the sad reality: The need for growth in shelf space in a supermarket has not - and cannot - possibly keep up with demand. Many, many small town supermarkets in this country are still working with mid-1960's shelf space in a world where three times that much shelf space is needed for a 2011 supermarket. They choose carefully what to carry, and drop whatever does not sell very quickly. They have to do that. But if it means Wish Bone Western (or Bob Evans bacon, or Star-Kist whole fillet in oil) have to go by the board, so be it. Sad, but a reality of modern business.
Because they are not soluble together as they have different densities. The same reason oil floats on water. Vinegar is more dense than oil, so in a sense, its sinking.
It was named for the region where it was first prepared: Thousand Islands, New York.
Because it is concentrated and so the lighter stuff floats to the top (thats why its a lighter color) and the heavier ingredients sinks to the bottom (darker color) so you shake it to mix it so it doesn't taste gross. =P
