it will die because the water content is not the same as salt
you cant lower the general harndess of a saltwater aquarium. Why would you even want to?
Two adaptations of brine shrimp include their ability to control the amount of salt that enters their body and their ability to withstand high temperatures. Brine shrimp live well in areas with a high salt content.
Saltwater is generally made from commercially made salt (specifically for marine aquariums, not "aquarium salt" used for cichlid tanks) and filtered freshwater. Some people living near the ocean collect natural saltwater, but that can be polluted and usually needs to be filtered (which may cost more than making saltwater).
Go you petco or petsmart or anyother place that sells fish they should have instant ocean sea salt their the ratio it 1/2 cup of the salt per gallon read the box to make sure
Most seahorses that are sold to for aquariums are bred in captivity so it doesn't impact the wild seahorses as much. Wild seahorses are also harder to keep alive because they are pickier about their food,
The other trade that uses seahorses is Chinese medicine. I don't know for sure, if those are wild caught or captive bred but I would imagine that captive breeding would be more cost effective.
Cold water freshwater fish include goldfish and koi. If you are thinking of getting a goldfish they need at least a 20 gallon tank each. They also poop a lot which brings up ammonia levels. On the bright side, cold water fish don't need a heater. =)
No.sea monkeys is just another name for brine shrimp.they are only afew mm in size.
Most fish tanks are built in plastics because platic does not break easily.Glass people still use now for their fish tanks at home but i rarely see them, because glass fish tanks can break easily although is transparent
Many people will give these fish just so-so care. But if they are cared for properly, they could live about 10 years. With my puffers, I change half the water in the tank once a week and make sure to feed them a lot. They also like to have a hiding spot where they wont be scared. i luv em tho!
The only people who could possibly answer that question (If anyone can) would be the Bureau of Statistics.
Water hardness or softness refer to a number of water parameters. Most commonly hardness refers to what known as General Hardness(GH), which is basically a measure of the calcium and magnesium salts present in water. There is also Carbonate hardness(KH), which is a measure of the carbonate concentration of the water. Combined, these two form Total Hardness, ie, GH + KH = TH
The simple answer is yes. A balanced aquarium should contain water plants and these need light in order to live and grow. If your aquarium is a tropical one then the lights should be on for around 12 hours daily.
It depends..some people like a deep bed because it will host bacteria that can break down the waste products such as nitrates, nitrites and ammonia.
This would be 4 to 6 inches.
Other people have a shallow gravel bed of 1/2 to 1 inch.
Some considerations are if it will be a reef tank or just marine fish?
Blue whales eat krill and plankton. Their throat is very small, the largest possible thing to fit in would be a grapefruit. So no, they don't eat seaweed.
The water pH will change when substances are added to water. If the pH is more than 7 it makes the water basic and if it is less than 7 the water is acidic.
20 gallon High 24" x 12" x 16"
20 gallon Long 30" x 12" x 12"
That is 2.31 million cubic inches. The dimensions could change to whatever shape you needed, but an example would be somewhere around 20 feet wide x 8 feet high and 8 feet deep.
When breeding Blue Tangs will concrete forming spawning aggressions release eggs in the water.
Quote from wikipedia:
Clownfish are native to warmer waters of the Indian and Pacific oceans, including the Great Barrier Reef and the Red Sea. While most species have restricted distributions, others are widespread. Clownfish live at the bottom of the sea in sheltered reefs or in shallow lagoons. There are no clownfish in the Atlantic.
Answer:
Basically clown fish live in many areas in the world and i am quite sure that there actually some clownfish in the Alantic due to ppl releasing them into the wild as they do not want them as pets anymore. Also, they have a mutual syn-biotic relationship with anemones so you will find them near anemones.
Relationship:
The clown fish is immune to the anemone's poison so it hides in it for protection against predators and the clownfish lures "food" (fish) to the anemone.
Clownfish lay eggs externally, and the male fertilizes them later.
The amount of eggs laid varies greatly and depends on the variety of Clownfish that laid them.
Depending on the variety they may lay a batch as small as 15 or as many as a thousand in the wild. The amount they will lay in captivity varies greatly and depends on a number of factors within the tank.
Hope this helps!

Depending on how old they are. They molt less when they are older and molt more often when they are younger. If they have enough calcium to molt or not. Generally every 1-2 months.
Technically, a 2 gallon tank for one Cory cat, 4 gallon tank for two Cory cats, and so on. The rule is one gallon per one inch of fish and Cory cats can grow to two inches, although the bigger tank the better. I would DEFINITELY not recommend a 2 gallon tank with one Cory cat. They like to be in groups and will be happier and healthier.
