Sanskrit Language Date of Origin?
Sanskrit may be the oldest language in the world. Some would say it can be dated back five thousand years, although the earliest Vedas, the earliest writings in this language, date from ca. 1500 BCE. Needless to say, Sanskrit was a spoken language for many many years before it was ever written down, but we can never have evidence of when or by whom. Only similarities with other languages in the Indo-Iranian branch of Indo-European languages suggest a migration from a point further to the west of India, such as Iran.

What is meaning of Hindi name nikesh?
Your mother had tolde you the correct meaning of your name. Now let me explain how it is. The name is made of two basic(root) words of Sanskrit Nik and Ish (नि and श). There is something called sandhi in Hindi grammer have a look on it how it is
नि + श = निश
नि means blue(नला) colour in Sanskrit
श means God(शवर) in Sanskrit
Thus the name Nikesh(निश) means the God who is blue coloured in appearance. Ipmlying it lord Shiva
It's a Gujarati name, as are most names ending with 'esh.'
My name is Nikesh as well. My dad told me that Nikesh means unhairy (in Sanskrit, kesh means hair and 'ni' serves as a negation). This supports the previous answer which said that it means 'bald.' I'm not sure if the Sanskrit meaning was the one intended though, many Gujarati names end in 'esh' such as Rikesh, Dinesh, Rajesh, Jayesh, Nimesh, Nilesh, Hitesh, etc... so for the Sanskrit word 'kesh' to have been utilized intentionally is unlikely.
'Ni' also means son (in Sanskrit) I believe, so Nikesh could be analogous to the English name Sonny (with the 'kesh' serving as the Gujarati analog of the Enlgish suffix 'y') .. but this idea just came to me on the spot .. I'm not sure if it's true.
My mother also told me that Nikesh was the nickname for the Hindu mythological character Shankar Bhagwan. Shankar is one of multiple names for Shiva, but this doesn't provide any insight into the name Nikesh

Sorry I didn't know that answering this would remove the previous person's answer. He put that his parents told him that the name means 'bald' and 'the part of you that does not need objects' or something like that. I really wish it didn't get removed.
--
Also, it might not have any meaning at all. "Nik" just sounds good, and adding "esh" makes it acceptable to the Gujarati ear. My brother's named me Nikesh thinking my friends might call me "Nick"
